'L'ooking for a CDTV EMulator on A1200 with PISTorm

Hi there,

well I'm looking for a CDTV Emulator for my A1200 with PIStorm32 and OS 3.2.2.1.

I have the IDEFIX CD32 Emulator which runs not all that great and it recognizes CDTV Discs but mostly it crashes with them.

So is there an emulator for CDTV Discs for the OS available?

Does it have to be an emulator? WHDLoad supports many CDTV games.

Otherwise, UAE does exist for 68k as well. Not sure if they are based on versions that could already emulate the CDTV, however.

OK. Thanks.

It was just a small idea to get them to work on an original Amiga. So I have this WHDLOAD Tool and here are some games there. But not that much. I tried to start DotC2 from the disc.

I thought you are asking for a CDTV emulator to run on an A1200 with PiStorm. Where is the "original Amiga" there? It's already emulation.

WHDLoad supports many CDTV titles. Not sure what "tool" you are refering to. Most CDTV installs were consolidated with their floppy disk counterparts, so you need to just look for the game, not for a specific CDTV slave.

DotC2 has an install as well.

If you want the games pre-installed you can find them here: http://ftp2.grandis.nu/turran/FTP/Re...DLoad_-_Games/

Don't see the point, as WHDLoad doesn't do CDDA. So You can't enjoy say the quality Bomb the bass soundtrack on Xenon2 CDTV.

idefix and any other CD-ROM driver has own CD32 emulator that you can use to run CDTV games directly from iso or from real CD-ROM

As mentioned in the original post. They don't work particularly well.

True, but still be nice if CDTV and CD32 slaves could add option to include tracks in mp3 format, that it looks for when starting game with CDDA.

Nope, squirrel emu does not support CDTV disc's. Saying that, I fixed alot of compatabily issues with certain stuff, using OS3.9 CDFS.

Not practical. The CDTV and CD32 have a hardware mixer which combines CDDA with Paula output. To add CDDA with WHDLoad you would have to re-write the audio driver of each game to add software mixing to use only two Paula channels. Not practical at all.

This is why I use real CD's instead. Emulation would'nt have this issue, but I see what your saying as we are dealing with hardware.

To be fair most CDTV titles don't use all 4 Paula channels + CDDA but they could.
