The kickstart replacement is integrated in WinUAE and some Linux versions
Just start emulation without Kickrom. |

It is far from "replacement" and apparently nobody uses it because it has been broken for some time again

Pity - but thx for the Info
Ahem....Toni? How about...in Theory... If someone will write a real replacement.rom is WinUAE going to use it? Im asking because i read somewhere that a rom with changed bootimage (the hand) will not be work in uae And a replacement will not match 'original' rom's size and/or crc etc..etc.. |

@tero,
The earliest version of WinUAE I have tried (0.6.6pr2) includes the replacement kickstart code and boots the Red Sector Inc. Megademo disk1 Using the command line: uae -0 rsi1.adf The command line switch -0 mounts the rsi1.adf image in DF0: When the end of disk 1 is reached, disk 2 is requested, but this early command-line version of WinUAE hass no GUI and so there is no way to mount disk 2 while the demo waits. With later versions of WinUAE with GUI, it is possible to replace disk 1 with disk 2 and continue. I am uploading WinUAE 0.6.6pr2 and the Red Sector Inc. Megademo disks to the Zone for you to try. |
