Native build system

Recently I have started to do a little C programming on my A1200 using VBCC. To compile everything I have made a little script that I start from the shell. This works fine for the little test projects that I have been doing, but if things progress to larger projects then a build system would be nicer. Hence my question:

Is there a build system for native C development that can be used with VBCC? I'm looking for something like automake, but not necessarily that full featured. And no need to be compatible with automake and friends either. Preferably without having to install loads of libraries.

I know that such a thing may not actually exist, but I ask this on the off-chance that it actually does...

There is an automake on Aminet, if you want to go that route. But I never used it and I don't know if it has any ixemul-dependencies (like Unix-paths).

Usually a Makefile should be perfect, even for the larger kind of Amiga projects. I recommend to get the SAS/C-compiled "make" from Aminet (without ixemul).

Thank you for your reply - that is indeed the sort of thing I was looking for!
