Ax Battler + Zelda 2 = Tales of Gorluth III ?
Update:
Well, the engine works, text boxes can be displayed....looks like a new game could be done. ============================ Hi again! If there would be a final chapter for "Tales of Gorluth", would it be cool to look like that? You know, I´m still working on the overhead view game "Oh no! More Aliens" and the last Gorluth game should be something special, too. So, Ax Battler + Zelda II = Gorluth III? Last edited by viddi; 24 November 2017 at 18:25. |

Totally up to you viddi but IMHO; definitely not.
It doesn't fit the same style / genre as the previous two. You could still use the idea for another game, just not connected with Tales of Gorluth. |

Again, it's totally up to you how you want the series to go viddi
Let's see what other people's opinions are who've actually played through both previous games (which I haven't as yet). Do you want a poll created in the thread my friend? |

I like it but please hide or remove game title from playfield as it was silly then and now. Good luck with your project

For me: no. I do not like when the game in a direct franchise line suddenly change the genre. If you really want to use the world and characters from Gorluth for a spin-off, do not name it Tales of Gorluth III, but something like "Heroes of Gorluth" or whatever

Reminds me of the Falcom games which switched perspectives a lot.

3D 90' turn based RPG ala Dungeon Master, Captive, BloodWych etc.
Demphasis on skills / learning / classes and team members. Emphasis on exploration, items, NPCs and puzzles. |

I would say you can still keep the RPG style up just tone it down a bit - take as reference Cadash arcade and PC Engine; is a style of mix arcade/RPG that i miss on Amiga...

So will it be backbone game or You have different engine this time? I like the idea of this game, maybe just maybe it do not need to be related with Your last 'tales of' series.
