You can use print screen, paste to Word and save as PDF. It should be easier to find PDF file somewhere.

Completely agree, it's only a fiver. It's not like it racks up millions of sales every month and carries masses of advertising. Magazine sales suffer enough these days and a more niche publication like Retro Gamer probably can't afford to lose too many sales through this sort of attitude.

I'll be popping into town this afternoon to pick up a copy from Smiths.
Had a quick read in the cafe while I had my lunch. Good article so far. Will read the rest tonight. Last edited by Steve; 06 February 2014 at 15:16. |

In the Retro Gamer article John Twiddy mentions his old hard drive with the Super Putty files on not spinning. I wonder if that could just have been due to "stiction", where the heads stick to the platters stopping them from spinning up. Last year I powered up my first Amiga hard drive (86MB Fujitsu, not used for ~15 years) and it didn't spin up. It just sort of clicked several times.
I ended up putting a mouse mat on a flat surface, then slammed the drive on its side down onto the mat. That must have dislodged the heads, because it did spin up after that (and I could read all the data). So that could be worth trying. Of course, for really valuable data you should probably take it to a professional company for recovery. |

Picked up a copy today. Not read it since I cancelled my subscription a couple of years ago... I think I'll give it another read to see if things have improved.

What a great mag this is. No PDF's, just buy it. Loved the issue (Paperboy fan), the Putty article is excellent - particularly amusing the bit about Galahad's 'colourful' past.
