Checkmate Digital A1500 plus Kickstarter

Just a heads up for anyone interested, a Kickstarter has been launched for an A3000 inspired case which can be used with the Amiga 500/600/1200 and certain PC motherboards.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...desktop-compu/

Sorry if this was mentioned elsewhere but a quick search revealed nothing.

New desktop Amiga cases kickstarter

In case anyone hasn't heard of this, Stephen Jones who made the Checkmate A1500 cases for the A500 back in the 90's is back with a new A3000 inspired case for the Amiga 500, 600 and 1200 (and some pc boards and Rpi's). He has loads of videos online already so you can see what it's all about and the kickstarter is open now if you're in the market for a new case!

Checkmate Digital A1500 plus Kickstarter

Hi all

After 11 months of development I am pleased to announce my Kickstarter, please share this information far and wide as I do not know all of the sites out there and have spent my time designing and testing this case and sadly not been looking.

Steve

Not saying you should just found it curious, especially since you're a Brit.
Am I correct in assuming that the "English" in english amiga board refers more to location than language.
I know, what an autist right?

The blue and white ball in the upper left corner might suggest, this is not an Englisch but a Scottish site.. or a Bavarian...

No, not at all... there are people from all over the world here; I'm from Sydney, Australia

Where do people get that idea from I wonder?

Anyway, "English" as in the language used on the forum.

Nice looking case, hope the Kickstarter campaign is a success, my 500 will look great in this.

I like to think of this site as the one that let me join, doesn't matter what country it is in to me. Nothing worse than trying to register to a forum and having to wait 1 1/2 years only to be denied because they think I am a robot.

It is true I should be here more, but I tend to go quiet then return in waves :-)

To be honest I have read articles here just not posted as I did not have much to contribute.

Must admit I have been through the whole converting A1200s into towers then back again process but this case does look lovely, for me it makes the most sense with the A500, zorro board and keyboard housing. I'm trying to resist spending the money but I might have to back it.

Edit. Backed it, couldn't stop myself, lol.

According to the QAs/KS page, the final weight isn't known, although a shipping price estimate is on the KS page.

For the record, I'm unaffiliated with the project except as a backer.

I don't normally post here (just a lurker), but I thought people may be interested in Checkmate A1500 Plus Q&A with David Pleasance which is happening Live on 23rd September 8pm GMT.

Backed!
Spread this around to other people you think may appreciate the case, as if it doesn't make it's goal, it wont happen! There are only 8 days left!
