That's indeed a pity Didn't know that PT requires that much horsepower to be usuable.

My PC runs at 3GHz (PIVc) but i'm only at 50% of the real hardware !
Maybe the hyperthreading techno doesn't work with this emulator?!

I have a 2GHz PC and Tempest works fine (with music) in Project Tempest here.

@rexsu
I've no idea. Should run fine on your PC if you ask me.

@Retro
That's what I thought. I've played it once on a 1.4 Ghz Athlon and it ran quite okay too.

Do you have the same result with fullscreen? Well here I have both windowed and fullscreen with 100% (60/60) all the time I have a Athlon X2 3800+ and I bet that PT only uses one core, which would be 2 Ghz...

Yes, same thing for the fullscreen mode, very strange, isn't it?
I suspect the Hyper Threading technology of Intel, but it's just a assumption.

On my old laptop (which I tried because I had to send my own to its manufacturer for the second time in 2 months) which is a single core 2GHz (from 2003) it also crawls at 50% speed.
On my current notebook (which I just got back) with 2xAthlon64 @1.7GHz (from 2007) it's fullspeed with sound.

Maybe the graphics chip/card has a huge impact?

Btw., just found out Tempest X3 for PS1 has the mode "Tempest 2000" included (thus it's playable on PSP...).
And there was Tempest 3000 for NUON (some DVD-player with added game functionality - only 8 games were released for it).

Project Tempest only uses up to 50% processor time on my Core 2 Duo, with Windows 7 64bit

Just for the sake of things I used it on my 2003 Athlon XP 2400+ 2Ghz and also runs in full frames in Windows XP.

So I think rexsu's Pentium 4 would be powerful enough unless, this emulator is highly optimised for AMD machines which I doubt.

Must certainly could be a drivers or graphics card not powerful enough.

My guess would also be that it's not the hardware, but the drivers. Well only about one and a half days left to get it sorted rexsu

Now i'm sure that Hyper Threading is not the problem because after his desactivation (in BIOS), it's the same thing...

In fact i tested an old version (0.5) and the game runs at 60fps; sadly the sound disapears quickly after the start

Maybe the gfx card or a new code optimized for AMD in the last version?
My card is a GeforceGO 5600, so impossible to switch with another

Just to tell that my card on the Athlon machine it's an ATI 9600 Pro

Was sure at least one of the X-Men would show up with some insane score.

Is the EMPL dying already?

I have no idea. xpect was busy with real life, but I have no idea about rexsu or TF. I'll at least wait till the end of this 'season' and when we only have 2-4 people each round I think it's not really worth to proceed to season 2...

Agreed - it wouldn't be worth it then.

Hopefully we'll see more people joining in the cold months.

In fact i have other activities (not just games) so the EABMPL is overmuch contest for me.
But it's not a surprise, i told at Turrican (when he gave his idea) that i would probably not be up for it

There, i made a proposal for T2K because it's the summer break for the Superleague and... for you TCD
I will make a score for Super Turrican, it is time for me to discover this SNES version !

No worries rexsu Just would be nice to see some more folks around. Well we some rounds with quite a few people so there's still hope that it gets 'better' once the weather cooled down

You need to collect the jump power-up first. Then it's on one of the buttons. Hope you noticed that this competition is already over

Edit : Button A as john said
