Zool 2 Slowdown on WHDLoad
Having a bit of trouble playing Zool 2 (AGA version) on my 040-equipped A1200. It tends to slow down and go really jerky when there are more than about three objects on screen, which is ridiculous and renders the game virtually unplayable. It never did this on the floppy version I used to play years ago so I'm not sure what's going on.
The only tooltype I've tried is nocache which has no effect whatsoever. Any ideas anyone? Thanks! |

The same here. I guess we'll have to live with it or wait for WHDLoad team to rewrite the slave.

Same here too, both on my '040 and '060 systems
There's more games suffering from this, guess the whdload team never had real Amiga's when they made the slaves |

well the ..team knew , not easily solvable. 040/060 slow chipmem access is what kills the speed.

Most likely it was written on 68030 based Amiga. |

Maybe we should set up a small bounty, to get the most active Whdload developers 040/060 cards ? If they still got 030..

There's not really anything to be done about it. One of my slaves (for the demo 'Electrons at Work' by TEK) has a small flicker in one of the parts on 040/060 - this is due to chipmem bandwidth. The original author of the demo knew this too. Works fine on 030.
What am I supposed to do about that without recoding the routine ? |

Or in special bondage sets...this satisfies every slave
BTW: It works fine on my A1200/030 but it´s unplayable on my A4000/060! Last edited by viddi; 22 April 2007 at 15:40. |
