EAB/Lemon Super League 2010: Round 8 - Pinball Illusions

EAB/Lemon Super League 2010: Round 8 - Pinball Illusions

Starts: 00:01 July 11
Finishes: 23:59 July 31

Rules

Post screenshots of your scores in this thread, and write your score underneath. You can enter as many times as you like within the round's time frame.

All three tables will be played and all three scores will be added together to make your total score (it would be helpful if you could work this out yourself in your post).

No cheating of any kind (including score leeching) - this includes save states. No continues/passwords allowed. If you suspect a contestant of cheating then don't post it in public (anyone who does so will have their posts edited or deleted) - please PM me, Biscuit or mihcael and we will investigate it. If we find anyone guilty of cheating then they will be banned for the entire season.

Please only post your score on either the EAB or Lemon forums. If you have already played this year you have to post your score on the same forum for the whole season. If you are new, the one you post on first will be your team for the whole season. However you are welcome to discuss the compo, game etc. on the other forum if you wish.

Remember, anyone can join in at any time. Have fun and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

I haven't played this game too often. It's good but it doesn't really grab me in the same way as Fantasies and Slam Tilt.

This game should not have been released in the state it is available. It is full of bugs and apparently it was not properly tested. The most bugged table is the second one. The ball can sometimes fall into a trap on the left which makes the game to crash but the most annoying thing is that if you are during the race combo and you get the multiball, you got screwed completely because the multiball is not enabled and when the race combo is finished no other combos can be activated till the end of the play (not the ball)! I do not mention the bug with lack of automatic change of the resolution when you are in multiball mode. It happens on every table...

I am not sure Mailman, i am not disputing what you are saying as i am sure it happens, but when the game first game out (as much as i am not a Pinball fan) i played this game to death and never had any of the problems you mention!? Could it just be a bad version you are playing?

I tried different versions: original for AGA, CD32, cracked ones. Each time the bugs are the same. In the past I also played this game a lot and made some huge scores but they were just pure luck. I am a hardcore pinball fan and I always considered Pinball Illusions as being published too early...

Blade, are you saying that your version automatically switches the resolution in multiball mode?

I had an (original) floppy disk version of Pinball Illusions back in the day - my Mum was/is a HUGE pinball fan, so we bought them all - and I can confirm that the screen did indeed automatically switch between lo-res and hi-res graphic modes when multiball was activated. I think you could also manually change modes with one of the 'F' keys (F9 or F10 maybe?)...
I specifically remember this resolution switching as our ancient Phillips monitor used to make a buzzing noise when it changed over and the first time my Mum activated Multiball mode, she thought she'd broken something!!! Bless!
Sadly, I no longer have these disks as my Dad gave all our Amiga stuff away some years ago, but I hope this gives you some hope Mailman...? Maybe Blade will find his disks and you'll be able to play it properly after all this time.

I know that you can do it by hand but my versions never did it all by themselves...

On the WHD install on KG's site you have to do it manually also. I don't find it a massive problem but it's a bit sloppy and inconvenient at times.

I think the music on ALL the tables sucks. A pity there's no option to turn it off like in the two predecessors.
