Ok, that is what I did back in the days (learning by doing) and if I remember right I didn't cared much about a perfect palette. How to paint (techniques and tools) was more difficult.

A speedrun video of your drawings would be really awesome to see.
Just how long does it take you to draw them? I really need to get back into drawing.. but all my stuff is abstract.. and for whatever reason I have problems with doing color. I wish I had my original art from AmicaPaint on C64.  Long since lost.. barely still have a few dot matrix prints of them.
