That's not what we are talking about, is it?

The complaint was that after formatting the partition appears to have much less free space than the size of the partition.

So, is that behaviour correct under workbench thomas?. I mean getting on the window less than the real space in the partition if it goes beyond 4gb?.

Yes, as I said it depends on the Workbench version. 3.1 and below have this bug, 3.5 and beyond should not.
