Total Chaos - full version lost forever?

ahhaa so as i thought. It toke me 6 month of long research and struggle till i found the archive and matched them. I was silently suffering hehe. Are you saying you are giving up on total chaos or i still send you the archive?

If you still want me to send you the 150 MB archive (that is legitally working)....

What are the parameters in lha in my amiga to turn the game, folders into file.lha that have all the sub directories in the lha as well.

I haven't tested it but there's a WHDLoad archive of Total Chaos 7.11 AGA on the EAB file server

the whdload version is just a proof of concept. there are too much disk access, but you can launch directly the game without whdload with these archive (lha for decompress under amigaos and zip with windows: amigados filename)

/WHDL Generic removed because it causes errors that cause you to quit the game. You must play it natively.

In this thread user mendel mentioned he got an email reply from the game developer ChaosLord.
I wanted to give it a try, contacted mendel per mail and he kindly answered but regretably also has not got a full version of the game.

I thought the file to full-ify the demo version was uploaded to the Zone back in 2018. Did I misunderstand?
Is the game any good? I was around back in 2005 on Amiga.org when ChaosLord was very active and I remember that he would always come out of left field and suggest that, whatever the question, Total Chaos AGA was the answer I thought he was just some eccentric pushing his wierd little game on everyone, but I always saw it pop up in discussions about GEMS on the amiga. I never gave it a spin while he was alive and development was ongoing. I regret that now.

I removed the turn limit (over a year ago, but then some stuff happened and I forgot all about it :P). The patched file is in the Zone.

If anyone's curious -- it's a two byte job:

cmp.w #$1d00,(a4,$0620)
blt.b #$08 => bra.b #$08

(0c6c 1d00 0620 6d08 => 0c6c 1d00 0620 6008)

cmp.w #$0014,(a4,$0524)
blt.b #$22 => bra.b #$22

(0c6c 0014 0524 6d22 => 0c6c 0014 0524 6022)

You can load saved games by choosing 'Help me!' > 'Show me a Tutorial' from the ingame menu and navigating to ../SavedGames directory. The game will complain that it's not a tutorial but hey, it works perfectly anyway

I remember removing the turn limit, probably incompletely. And someone complained that it didn't work because ... I don't remember.

Yeah, that's probably because the 20 turn limit isn't the only one. After the end of turn 28 the code branches straight into a dumpster and crashes -- it might be a bit more difficult to spot as it checks for a higher byte instead of a lower one.
