with what?
every drive is different and have different writing methods etc
there are whole forums on this topic testing tons of drives and the burn quality
also laser get worse and worse everytime you use it this is why people turn the potentiometer up to give more power so it can read again till its completely dead
then have to replace the optical laser diode/assembly

you should be checking your burn quality
and checking what dye's the cd32 likes or adjusting the pot on the cd32 to dyes and drive using to burn
this was a bug deal on gamecube burns
also usually you dont want anything running while burning

fyi imgburn will tell you the dye used on the disc
and you should be doing slow burns not max burning speed
most drives do better burning at slower speeds

anyways lots of crap on burning stuff and its a big read due to many many drives
might wanna check your burner see if there is a better firmware for it

for CDR disc usually AZO is the best dye CDR should look blue

I've never touched the potentiometer of the lens of the cd32 works well and that's fine so never touched anything
Among other things now I use a terrible fire T328 for cd32 and the reader does not use it anymore just to not ruin it load everything from whdload
