Found these good links for Gameboy roms.

Only prob is the zips are password protected and I cant find any info about what the password should be.

I used to have a link for an excellent site from one of the groups that releases the games. I think I got it from some diz or nfo file in one of the games I got from usenet (the gameboy binaries groups are really indispinsable). If you like, I can try and dig that link back up. No passwords.

I had some brute force password cracker running for most of the weekend then I completely forgot about it and shut down my pc!!

More links as I find them..

btw. I accidently went to www.finaburn.org today instead of www.finalburn.com and they have a nice collection of roms there too..

I just tried on a randomly chosen rom from letter a, and the password given by gdido works perfectly (you must type the whole phrase all in capital letters with dots) :

"LINK DA WWW.GDICAS.COM DENUNCIE COPIAS"

Obviously don't type the " things

Yup. I grabbed one at random, too (Baby T-Rex) and I just copied and pasted the password right from this very page and it worked swimmingly!

last night I found the problem. A space had snuck on the end of my password. Everything fine now

Good one, Big-Byte.

I didn't know there were so many roms for the Gameboy.

But what annoys me about these big lists is that there are so many copies of the same file. I could select just the version I want, but with a list that big it would probably be quicker to download them all...

I have the same problem with Amiga files now.. I have so many adfs its impossible to check if Ive got them already and have to download everything on a site..

Anyway I was bored today.....
So I went on the gozilla search engine and found these links (for Amiga this time!!) Not many files but I wont know if Ive got them until I run them through my TOSEC lists..

Which is precisely why TOSEC renaming is so valuable, even if it's not a perfect solution. Sure, getting CRC values without TOSEC is also an option, but it's far less convenient. And I like knowing who cracked what or trained what (especially if it's automatically generated for me in seconds!)

Good site for roms but boring to use because every roms use a very long password.

it is useable if you must type it only 10 time (for 10 roms), i have downloaded >500 roms for megadrive/Snes and it is boring boring boring... to type each time this password LINK DA WWW.GDICAS.COM DENUNCIE COPIAS
It will take years to unzip all of it :eek

It's probably only good for fills. You'll have to come to grips with usenet newsgroups if you want mass floods of roms with no nonsense like that.

No, these roms is not 'just' for fills my hd with roms.
It is for complete my collection of games in the Megadrive and SNes, fill the hole of roms that i don't have find before.

No, i don't like usenet newsgroups for downloading binaries (roms, ect...).

If it whas just for filling my hd with files (roms or others), i will download everithing for every computers/consoles emulated.
But this is not the case, i have only some of emulated system in interest that i want the most complete as possible.

Computers:
Amiga, Zx Spectrum, Amstrad, MSX, C64

Arcade Consoles:
Mame, Raines, Shark

Consoles:
Nes, SNes, Megadrive, TurboGraphix16

Maybee you are limited your interest to the Amiga ?

What i want say in my previous post whas that: crypt a zip file with a password if this zip is not confidential or highly secret is stupid and useless.
The purpose to put roms online is that the most people can use it.
It is boring to type for every roms the password (that give not 100 % protection for it, because already cracked).

I don't sell or do anything that make the software copyright owners angry.
I like to remember what games whas created at this good old time and play with some of this games that i had not the opportunity for when the game came out.

If you find me stupid to download so many roms, then it is not friendly of you.

I am not only/just a leecher, if somebody need some roms, i have always give it immediately free and not protected with a password.
Previous donations of roms whas on others forums or in somes newsgroups about emulations.
Here, i cannot be very usefull today because i have a lot of Amiga games but they are not already classified/tested.
It take a lot of time to test and make a list of it.

I am not stupid, i am just a fan of old games.

Aaarrgh.

That the site is only good if you want to download a few roms just to 'fill' the gaps in your collection..

btw get a program called BatchZip Toolkit. You type the password in once. highlight all the roms with the mouse and click go and it unzips them all for you.

Clearly you have misunderstood me! I don't know where you get the stupid word that you used throughout your response, as I never even remotely suggested any such thing. Ever. I used the word nonsense once. And it was to describe having to use passwords to decrypt zip files from that rom site.

Second misunderstanding: when I used the word fills, it is a term used to desribe missing files in a collection. It is used heavily in the usenet newsgroups, but it is also used on web sites and through various traders. Even mp3 traders. And this term does apply to you because you described that in your above message.

I think you flew off the handle a bit, Maverick. It might have served you better to at least ask me what I meant before assuming I was attacking you, which I don't believe I have ever done.

To restate what I meant in my message, in usenet newsgroups, complete floods of every system are posted regularly. Depending on your news server, some parts may not make it through or the person posting might be missing a few titles. So I was suggesting getting the nearly complete sets from usenet, then filling in the missing games from web sites (which is slower than usenet usually, as well).
