MaxUAE woes
*hangs head in shame*
YES, I AM LAMEULATING I want a notebook Amiga so I installed MaxUAE on the iBook beast. I loaded MaxUAE GUI too, and made a normal 040 config: *3.0 ROM *2MB Chip, 32MB Fast, 4MB GFXCard *No Shapeshifter support *68040 (tried with 68020+68881 too), Real CPU speed. CPU Compatible:NO *Emulated, 16 bit, 44100 sound. *800x600 Res, Scanlines, ECS * Two directories set as Amiga volumes. I fire up the lameulator, and all I get is a Software Failure. (8000 0008, Task 40010500) This doesnt happen if I chuck a disk into the "drive". Seems like there's a problem with the mounted volume. Anybody knows what the fuck I'm doing wrong? I think I had this prob on WinUAE before, but dunno how I solved it (if I ever had the prob). Thanks in advance. PS: I'M NOT A LAMEULATER |

don't worry mate, there is nothing to be ashamed of in certain areas emulating is a *good* thing (i.e. MAME) but never forget that *NOTHING BEATS THE REAL THING*!
<uses jedi mindpowers to bitchslap Amigaboy, jmmijo and spiff> your problem might be that MaxUAE is not recognising the setup. try saving your config as "default.uaerc" in your MaxUAE directory and try again? or try loading with wb3.0 in the drive and installing wb to the volumes? sorry if I'm useless I threw my copy of MaxUAE in the bin once my ebay shopping spree ended |

Games just work fine, it's the emulated Volumes which are giving me problems. I am almost sure this happened to me with WinUAE, and I forgot which was the solution.
It's not like I'm dying to try it, ut a portable Amiga would be nice |

Nope, it's simply "Workbench" and "Work".
WTF would be Software Failure at 8000 0008, Task 40010500??? If I knew this I might know what's wrong. |
