Newly finished Atari ST Shooter!
Hey guys...if you are a 16 bit shooter fan, take a look here, on the AtariAge forums:
http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=50055 This Atari ST user went back to finish the game "Bold", left in limbo since the latye 80's. And judging by the screenshots, I was impressed. Game play was even better! Power-ups and control were really nice. I have linked to his homepage and the game here. The game is very much like Forgotten Worlds. Also, look at the other 2 games he was working on back in the late 80's, and he was only 13! http://www.geocities.com/lkermel/new/main.htm http://www.geocities.com/lkermel/new/bold/bold.zip Last edited by Fred the Fop; 25 June 2004 at 07:12. |

thanks for the link, this guy has really taste and skill at it. the shot-em up has his own version of bitmap brothers' crispin... then there is a early stage of a very promising elite-like game and check also the rpg half dungeon master and half black crypt!
i really hope he'll eventually get to complete them |

It's like a bloody ripoff of lots of games, but well, he did it back then as a kid for fun, so it's OK and looks cool, I wonder how it plays....

Well, duh! Why don't you either transfer it into an Atari ST disk or use WinSTon or Steem? |

What an excellent game Bold is. A mixture of forgotten worlds and r-type. Lovely control via the mouse. This guy is VERY talented. I hope he will be able to make more games for the ST. A+ !

Hey gang, an update.
Bold has been fixed (v 1.1) because there'd be problems with different versions of TOS. Enjoy! http://pacidemo.planet-d.net/atarilegend/BOLD.ZIP |

His stuff looks very nice.
I wish the EABers could get together and create a new Amiga game. Surely all the talent we'd ever need is right here. |

Yeah its a shame it never happened. Even a bog standard EABized pac man clone would be something.

I have used it in the past ( linux version ) and it was already good and portable ( open source, steem authors wrote steem will be open source, but in 2 years nothing has changed both in the license and in the distribution ) |
