I've tested the new build and the cropping issue appears to be fixed
I recorded multiple clips by loading a state multiple times and recording from clean start and whilst the emulator was running; no cropping was visible. Unfortunately, the missing frame at the start of the second clip is still evident. |

And loading same state twice won't cause any lost frames? (at least I can't duplicate this) |

Another (not really tested) update. Saving state didn't record last frame. It was rendered after GUI was exited which of course was too late.

I think you've solved it!!! Need to do some further testing... * Edit * Uploaded a video showing joining 2 clips together - the frames are all there!! [ Show youtube player ] I'll try something that has continuous audio playing and see how that performs. So the problem was actually that the last frame of the first clip (prior to the save state) was missing rather than the first frame in the second? Last edited by Al82; 16 October 2017 at 23:18. |

Just tested it with Shadow of the Beast's scrolling intro and joined 2 clips together - video and audio appear to be seamless!
I'm sure some of the other guys will want to test it, but huge thanks to Toni for spending the time in fixing this issue! Reposting link to current fixed version: http://download.abime.net/winuae/files/b/winuae.7z |

I tried the new version Al82 provided above of winuae, and I get the same pops, and frame skips, frame drops and new speed up issues. when using savestates
after using a savestate. I stopped recording. deleted the existing AVI. loaded the same savestate and re recorded the avi. I did this 6 times with the game Shadow Warriors with music on. And results are poor. Here is a short video if anyone is interested seeing how 6 joined avis look at my end. If Al82 or hipoonios can test the game and see if they get same results would be great.. Test purposed should include using savestates, Method.. Create savestate Record Stop recording Delete avi Load savestate Record avi http://uptobox.com/j9jo8ozg69o3 |

What about attaching your config file? (sounds like using fastest possible cpu or vsync or similar when recording)

I tried Shadow Warriors and didn't have any problems - perfect recording as far as I can tell. I joined about 4 avi clips together recorded from a loaded state and it was fine.

@AI82, if you can test it with this config would be appreciated. The only thing i changed in that config was window mode from fullscreen and started recording. I tried re recording the same game again by (deleting avis, and reloading savestates, and re recording).. And getting same results, speed up issues. Config looks fine. Does same happen if you don't load any state files?
It should be impossible to get glitches in recorded video even if emulation runs far too slowly with sound glitches as long as mode is not fastest possible. Perhaps log file (winuaelog.txt) helps. (Your video download is far too suspicious..) |

Are you able to upload the video somewhere else? That link says I have to wait over an hour.

I only had to wait 30 seconds for the download. Maybe it varies depending on time of day? Anyway, in case downloading is faster/easier I uploaded it to (remove ! after pasting into your browser's URL bar)

Cheers - was able to grab it from that URL
Does the actual game speed up in the emulator, or is it only in the actual video recording that you're seeing/hearing the issues? |

OK - I had a hunch that it might have been the TSCC codec compression settings and I think I've replicated the issue. I just moved the slider all the way to the right for 'Better Compression' and the frame rate and audio is all weird and speeds up, just like in the clip you uploaded.
I think the machine struggles to render and commit the frames to the output in timely fashion when set at max compression. Try setting the compression slider about half-way and see how that works - this is where I have it set. |

Speeds up in video only.
I always left the compression slider at default. But I will change it like you said and try it out later today. Thank you forn looking. |

Sounds like the same issue I was seeing when using utvideo or magicyuv, the recorded video ran fast for a moment after saving or restoring states:
