Player MOD, MED For Windows

For lovers of 80s music and music Games Amiga two link rich of modules in various formats (.Mod, .Med, Xm, It, S3m ), do not forget to date Amigaremix portal, in this case the music is in MP3

For Windows users, finally found a player compatible with all native Amiga Modules, including .Med file where many including WinAmp Player could not play them. Attaching video showing the Player on Windows ModPlug (if you know other quality MOD Player for Windows GUI accativante, it is welcome your report).

Tested BZR Player, then I remembered that (my 62 years weigh) BZR Player I had reviewed two years ago HERE. BZR Player It recognizes multiple formats, but MODPlug It is more refined and efficient, maybe even better in the quality of the music played, furthermore MODPlug allows the "Drag slider to change position in te sound" on file .MED, BZR Player You can not do that.

It would be too nice.

I wouldn't call that thing compatible with all native Amiga modules, especially not MEDs. Modplug is like the others, it doesn't play all files correctly.

MEDs from Push Over fail miserably.
Several Protracker also fail, like this one (compare with Amiga's DT2.34) or any mod using EFx (invert loop) effect.

DeliPlayer (not to be confused with DeliTracker) is (well, was) the only PC program able to play all MODs and MEDs (and just about everything else).
But it stopped working after Windows XP.

If you want to play MODs and MEDs fine, use DeliTracker 2.34 under Winuae. That's the only solution.

I did not understand what you wrote, I downloaded the file you've attached and MODPlug Apparently it has played in the best way, also note the comparison with EaglePlayer on AFA OS 3 and found no difference.

I'm sorry it was a typo, I wanted to write DeliPlayer, i attach screenshot showing the error DeliPlayer in executing .MED file
On WinUAE the file .MED you can hear well also with OctaMED Player, EMPY Player and Hippo Player

You're talking about a small detail that listening to music normally with only the ears like me hardly feels the problem , thanks for your technical contribution.

Yes, with this song ModPlug Player has some problems running it, but it may report the incompatibility to its author. No problem on the Amiga Player tested, OctaMED Player, EMPY Player and Hippo Player they have not encountered any problems on dat file attachment, Only PlayOgg has problems to run the file.

They are either played correctly, or the player is not yet ready. Modplug is ancient and still doesn't play mods correctly, I wonder when it will be ready? :-)

And no, these are not minor details. They are supposed to sound like the composer intended.

Modplug hasn't been supported for years, but it still does a decent job at playing many tracker module formats. I would say it does a better job playing PC formats tbh. Don't let anyone tell you Modplug Player is out of date, because it still plays multichannel format modules better than the remaining Windoze players still being developed for, even XMPlay.

MED has always been under supported (playback wise) in Windoze players, except for a specific replayer released years ago, can't remember if it still works on Win7 upwards.... Oh, jesus, I just found it on an old backup drive, made in 1996!! (seems to still work in Win10)...

Ah yeah, I should have said it doesn't play Amiga mods correctly.. XM/S3M/IT works fine in modplug as far as I've seen.

I'll give it a try.

btw I just checked DeliPlayer 2(registered) in Win10 rs1 and it plays anything I throw at it.
MOD,MED,AON,ML... you name it.
even the strange volume bug(mute on any new song) from win 7 is gone.

So thanks Amigasystem. It was just for your error post.
I wouldn't have installed it without it.

As Windows goes, XMPlay + xmp-openmpt is very hard to beat for reproduction accuracy (short of uade on cygwin, of course).
