Still writing it... I've bitten off more than I can chew with various projects but it is being written. I will definitely finish this off but no timescales Glad someone is waiting for it though!

Thanks Rob!
I have a couple more articles that have rather pressing deadlines to deal with first, but I'll keep chipping away at this too. I'll do it in instalments so as soon as all the first 25 entries are written I'll post them, and then the next 25 and so on. So hopefully you won't have to wait quite as long as you would otherwise. |

Missed this thread for being busy Will there be a 2013 version?
So sad SWOS is everyvody´s darling. The design is kitschy (if that´s the correct word) and the argument I have heard all life long that it´s so much better in terms of Football expertise is wrong. I read through the lineups and found like two dozens of errors and I didn´t even read them all. I prefer Goal! which would be my best game ever. |

Actually, this has got me thinking. Has the EAB played host to top 100 games votes in previous years?
The reason I ask is that (and stick with me on this, it is relevant) I produce an email newsletter for the band Madness, and for a number of years one of the subscribers got fans to nominate their top 10 Madness songs, to build up a top 100 chart. I mention this, because in the first year he simply gave some background info about each song along with it's placing. However, in subsequent years he put in other funky stuff such as previous chart placings and how much the song had risen or fallen compared to the last fan chart. New entries were also mentioned, too. I appreciate it would add more work, but it does make for a fascinating read. |

It's a good idea. I don't know, to be honest. Doing this article has been more work than I initially anticipated. It's also really difficult writing about games you know little or nothing about. I'll see how it goes and if it's popular enough I'll consider it.

How about posting a request on the EAB forum for some extra help with the games you know less about - or send PMs to those members who voted for those games- I am sure the members who voted for those games would probably be keen to write a short summary about the game. They would also provide more insight in to why they were chosen.
The games actual location in the top 100 could still be kept secret until the final reveal - |

Methinks the above may need reformatting somewhat
Edit: Much better Last edited by roberthazelby; 08 January 2013 at 13:01. Reason: Chat Rob 1 reformatted his mass of text into a tidy list |

Gulp! All those equal votes! I don't envy the person who is trying to sort those out. Am still looking forward to seeing the final list - but perhaps no need to add descriptions unless it's to explain the order.

Cheers Rob - I perhaps should have made clear that actually I already calculated the positions - I did it as I was going along; my intention was to put it into the style of one of Amiga Power's Top 100 articles, which would have been fun (still would actually). For maximum drama it was going to be a countdown from 100 to 1. However I appreciate the effort that has been put into this
The actual final list is slightly different to the one you have calculated. Firstly due to SWOS and Sensi Soccer counting as two different games, secondly due to the fact that one or two of the votes were actually edited after I counted them (so only the originals count) and thirdly my method of separating tied games - firstly by the number of first-placed votes, second-placed votes etc and then - perhaps crudely - if all was equal, then whatever got voted for first got placed higher (this prevented a hideous number of ties taking us well past 100 games). Ideally more people would have voted so the number of ties would have been reduced - there are obviously a lot of dead heats towards the bottom of the list. If anyone wants the official 100 list now let me know and I'll put it up tonight... worst games and all |

party pooper Rob!!
Whoops have I ruined a surprise?
Sorry just trying to help......me and my big size 11's Yeah post the official list in a far less crude format. I was really interested to see how the top 14 were so diverse. I think this speaks volumes for the Amiga. I agree a few more votes would have helped a lot. What would be great is if there was a clever chap on here who could write a programme on a web site where members could post their top 10 and change it when they fall in and out of love with a game. making the list live and preventing you from having to do all the calcs again. |

I have to say of all the top 100 etc lists of the best Amiga Games this is the only one I agree with. Mainly because it's been done democratically but all the lists I've seen in magazines and done by the review scores by 1 or 2 guys when they were released. These never seemed to be of the same opinion of me and my gaming friends.
There is a definite top 4 games isn’t there when you look at the scores and there is very little between them. It’s great to see early games like Stunt Car Racer high in the list too, why no one developed the game further and released it with better graphics and tracks on the 32 bit plus machines is a mystery to me? What I thought was interesting was much hyped good games such as Zool didn’t even get 1 vote….. Cheers for doing this Graham.... |

Nice list, thx for that.
There're some games i've never played, may worth a try. But some games are still missing, next list should be 200 with 20 votes per user |
