Possible yes but highly improbable.

Unlike the PSP, the DS has not enough 'raw' power (processor) to allow easy emulation.
From what I read there is a lot of custom hardware in the DS which help are the reason why it can do great stuff, notably in 3D with game such as Mario 64DS if it is used correctly.

Unless some homebrew developers learn how to code for this kind of hardware emulation will remain rather weak on NDS.
Besides there is the problem of accessing data and saving it, with different methods according to the linker used, even though DLDI is supposed to help solve this problem.

I recently tried various emulators (check http://www.ds-scene.net/?s=download#middle and http://dshb.50webs.com/pages/hb.htm if you want) and even CPC and NES emulation are far from being perfect. Which was rather disappointing for me.

Besides, the screen size of the DS screens are a bit out of ratio and thus a lot of emu have various unperfect display options, notably 'full screen' where you see all the display but things are out of proportion, making text difficult to read and 'full scale' where you see at normal scale but only part of a screen

Therefore I highly doubt we'll see an amiga emulator on DS.

One final note, if you liked Rick Dangerous 1 there a remake made for the DS, called xRick and a port of Reminescence (Flashback engine remake) you can find on the DS scenesite :/homebrew/platformer.

It somehow reminds me of that new "Amiga" computer from Commodore back in the day.
Ahhh, memories...

I would love for it to be on the DS, unfortunately I cannot ever see it happening due to the hardware constraints.

You're not going to do much in the way of Amiga emulation with a 67MHz ARM9.

DOS Fellow barely ran on a 90MHz Pentium

You're more likely to emulate a DS on an amiga!

Possible: Maybe, but like PicoDrive DS there would have to be major compromises made for it to even run a kickstart ROM as the Amiga's hardware is significantly more complex.

Usable: Definitely not, by way of comparison PocketUAE running on a 624MHz ARM core with 64MB cannot emulate an A500 at 100% speed.

Idd.

Add to that for the homebrew scene some libraries to better use the DS are developed by programmers and then shared between them (Palib, DLDI) which reminds me a lot of the amiga libs.

Also I find the DS can do some user friendly stuff if correctly programmed. For instance in Yu-gi-oh nightmare troubadour there is a column menu (with dynamically changing available commands) which you can switch between the left side or the right (handedness or convenience preference).
I don't have technical knowledge to check how it is done, but it reminds me of what the amiga blitter was reknowed to allow to do.

Mebbe somebody should change the title of this thread, as it appears to say its being ported to DS. Which is not the case eh.

so if winuae can't be done what about winfellow,is that the same probs..?

Or maybe just try and see if you can get just the amiga 500 to run only...i know the rest wouldn't work but we only need the ds to run the A500 games anyways..
