Here's some info ...

It was designed by a company called Tiki Data in Norway. It got an approval from the Department of Education, so it was common in schools, during the late 80's and early 90's,

It runs a CP/M-clone called KP/M.

It uses a Z80, running at 4MHz. It has 64KB's of RAM.
The graphics-chip was custom-designed by Tiki Data, and could do 256*256 in 16 colours, 512*256 in 4 colours, and 1024*256, in monochrome

There were several revisions of the machine, but there were few changes between them.

Around 1988-1989 it was clear that IBM-compatibles would take over the world, so schools started buying those machines instead (however, the Tiki's remained in use up until 1995-1996).

Most of the software availible for it was mostly "school-software". But there were also word-processors, database-applications, spreadsheets, etc. availible for it.

You could use just about all CP/M-applications, including CP/M itself, as long as it didn't use any special features (such as sound and graphics). (That's why most programs written for the Tiki won't run on any other CP/M-machine).

I thought I was the only one interested in these old computers! My wife thinks that I am the saddest person in town. Now I know different!
Off the top of my head here is the contents of my loft:
- 2x ZX81 (boxed, working all manuals leads etc)
- 4X ZX Spectrums (working, all manuals leads etc) 2 boxed
- 2x ZX Spectrum+1 (1 working, all manuals leads etc)
- 1x ZX Spectrum+2 (1 working, boxed, all manuals leads etc)
- 1x ZX Spectrum+3 (Amstrad - dodgy disk drive, all manuals leads etc)
- 2x microdrives for speccy
- 2x Dragon 32 (boxed - working, all manuals leads etc)
- 3x Commodore 64 (boxed, 1 bullnose type, all manuals leads etc)
- 1x MSX (no leads, PSU or anything)
- 1x Oric (no leads, PSU or anything)
- 3x Acorn Electron (2 boxed, all leads, manuals Acorn cassete players etc) - my very first computer, a complete suprise Christmas prezzy from my wife (bless her!) and the machine that got me hooked! (little did she know what a Trojan Horse that was!)
- 2x BBC B (2 disk drives, manuals, leads etc)
- 2x A1200 HD basic machines - no accelerators - bah!
- 3x A600 (1 HD)
- 2x A500 (RAM expansions to 1M and 1.5 Meg)
+ loads of PSU's, leads, manuals and other bits like cassette players and other Car Boot junk Ive collected.

And now we've moved they are gathering dust in the loft instead of in my play room like they used to be!

zx81 (doesn't work - hasn't got the cassette player lead)

The phillips videopac (G7000) - my mum bought this in about '89 because the man at the car boot sale said it would be easy to get games for...

Binatone tv master - Pong, about 10 times. (although "basketball pong" kept me and my sister busy for hours)

Dragon 32 (first machine I ever programmed - taught me what the colour "buff" was. Strangest colour pallette: green, yellow and lots of browns if I remember right. And dark blue. None of that good old "cyan" and "magenta" of the speccy)

zx spectrum 48K (count it). Took about 20 minutes to load a game, which was like listening to a modem connecting. Then it would crash. I spent hours typing in programs in basic from magazines - but there was always a misprint and I'd get a syntax error. There was also the weird combination of keys you'd have to press to get the right command (each key had about 5 different things it could be).

Sega Master System (the "newer" one - although there might have been more than two versions)

Sega Megadrive (the "older" one - although again, there might have been more than two versions) - had quite a lot of fun with this.

...and then all the recent stuff

Amiga 500 (with 512K expansion = 1 Meg, woohoo! Happy days are here! And a battery backed up clock!)

Amiga 600 (getting there...)

Amiga 1200 (with extra stuff like 030 expansion, 8 meg fast ram, scsi adapter, etc.) I got this just about the time the amiga was "officially dead" (for about the third time). Did lots of programming in AMOS pro on this (Still waiting for Amiga Format to send me my fifty pound for my "readers game". It's probably in the post.)

Then I got some PCs, from p90 to p200 to p400, which hold no nostalgic value for me whatsoever.

Thanks to this GREAT board a year ago I started my collection with an A600:

- A600 with 2 megs chip ram and a 350 megs hardrive
- CPC6128 with a 3.5" drive

Hey Akira, great photo's of the "Drean C64". I've never seen one like that before! If you got a digicam I would love to see more pics! (especially the case badge) I was thing of spraying a breadbin C64 (it is horribly yellowed (the commodore cruse!)) a nice shade of blue! Go great with a white keyboard!

Yes, works fine It has 16 megabits, so 90 % of Megadrive games and around 75 % of SNES games work with it. I got it plus a Snes, a Megadrive II + MegaCD II and a lot of originals for 90 $

The SNES with an RGB cable and the 50/60 Hz switch is an awesome game platform

6581: you ask for it, you got it! As far as I know, these Dreans are former returned US NTSC machines, refurbished and sold as new in this sub-standard third-world country I live in :P The VIC is NTSC, but the clock is PAL, so SIDs sound at PAL speed, but with the pitch of NTSC machines! some strange crap

You mean it "doesn't work" just because you don't have that lead? It's a normal miniplug cable man! I know I used a miniplu-miniplug cable to connect it to my stereo and load a cassette from it!

I ask myself the same question...! After I do some tidying up I'll post some pics of the machines I've got. The SAM coupe will probably be of most interest to people, so I'll try and get some pics of it uploaded.
