You shoot characters with your mouse cursor

That's one of the few things I can remember about this game. It's been bugging me for a few days, but my brain has completely failed me.

I think you controlled a cursor with your mouse and you had to shoot little characters which ran around the screen. I'm pretty sure this was a coverdisk / cover CD on one of the Amiga mags. Maybe sometime around 1995 or a bit later. I'm pretty sure you could make custom characters, and there might have been a flying saucer in there somewhere.

I hope I'm not making this up. Can anyone remember this game and is it anything like what I've described?

No, it had a top down view, like Cannon Fodder, but with slightly larger sprites.

There is a flying saucer. Oh, and there are little Sonics and Mask characters... I had an inkling there might have been some IP infringement going on. The joys of PD.
