9pin to PS2 adaptor found

Was perusing Maplins today to get cabels to attach my A1200's external scsi cd-rom drive to my speakers when i came across a 9pin to PS2 adaptor.

Would this be of any use to me and my retro computer collection?
Have looked at their website but haven't found the darn thing...

Erm, I don't think so

sounds like a mouse adaptor for a PC to me, and they don't work with all mice on the PC...

I have 3 or 4 of them, they are no use at all to me, although I did use one on a pc mouse -> amiga adaptor until I changed the adaptor to a USB socket...

USB on the Amiga?
Can it handle joysticks etc too?

nope, sorry

I just made up one of the pc mouse adaptors from aminet but used a USB socket instead of a mini-din one, the same for my keyboard.

Technically I have had 2 working USB ports on my Amiga since about April 2001

iirc I used ps2m for the mouse and epic, later MMKeyboard for the keyboard, I'm using a Logitech internet nevigator keyboard and a logitech mouseman (the one with the blue light), I've only found 1 mouse that has a problem (the middle button doesn't work, but looking at the docs, it's programmable on the pc/mac so it must be sending a non standard signal)

Theoretically, if you bought one of those PC mice adaptors you see on Ebay (Use PC mice on your Amiga) couldnt you then attach a adaptor to that which would take it from 25pins to 9pins upon which you could stick a 9pin to PS2 adaptor and then attach a USB mice to it via a PS2 adaptor?
