I have just coded a working Side Arms imager. If it helps Codetapper, I can send it to him. To test the imager I also already patched the game (which wasn't much work anyway), so if Codetapper agrees I would finish this install. Just let me know. I'm fine either way!

If you've done the game then you may as well release it.

The patch itself is finished since December 2011 and works fine (trainers etc. have been added too), the imager however is very slow due to the crappy disk format which is why I didn't release the patch yet. I will have a look at it again soon!

No, multiple syncs have nothing to do with crappy disk formats, they are normal part of a disk protection. Side Arms only uses the standard $4489 sync anyway, however, there are no checksums and the correct start of the track is not that easy to find (game code just re-reads the track until correct data appears). However, this morning at work I found a solution and my fast imager which I also made back in December 2011 already now works 100% reliable. I have also converted the patch to use real files and added some more trainers. The patch will be released in the next days!
