Big grin Back on the scene

Hi,

I used to have an Amiga 500, upgraded with the 1/2 meg trapdoor module, and a large metal house brick containing a further 3 megs stuck on the side DMA port. Loved it.

Been out of the scene since '95, when I went PC. Now I want back in and have got myself an A1200 with a 3.1gb hard disk, and a Blizzard board with 030 and 882 fpu @ 50mhz, also containing 32mb RAM.

Now, I want to be able to connect to my wireless home network and b/band connection. I'm assuming a PCMCIA card will do this. I'm looking for recommendations as to which card, and where I can get drivers from. Sorry if these are really baisc questions.

I also want to add a CD-ROM drive, my preference being a PCMCIA version as I don't want to butcher the case. Are these still available anywhere?

I'm going to get the 3.1 roms. Will this setup run OS 3.9?

That'll do for now, sorry for the "newbie" questions.

Pete.

Drivers can be found on Aminet: http://www.aminet.net/search.php?query=wireless You can find a list of supported cards in the archive.

You could check the shops listed in the FAQ. Additionally, there should be drives on eBay.

Welcome Home!!

I recommend Bloodwychs ClassicWb Full. Add Miami (TCP stack) Aweb (free Browser) and AMiFTP (free FTP suite). This will give you a superb WHDload ready Amiga. Whilst OS 3.9 runs ok on classic AGA systems, it really suits 060 and gfx card systems.

Ah! Welcome brother! Here we strive to rid ourselves of the mortal world (PC) and embrace the true pure faith (Commodore)

Thumbs up Update

Hi guys, thanks for the warm welcome

I've picked up a PCMCIA CD ROM drive, just waiting for the delivery, and my 3.1 ROMS and disks arrived last night. Can't wait to get up and running.

I'll have a look on the hard drive and see what's already installed, program wise. If nothing much, I'll format and do a clean install of 3.1.

Pete.
