EAB/Lemon Super League 2017: Round 10 Game Vote

EAB/Lemon Super League 2017: Round 10 Game Vote
Starts: 00:01 July 23 Finishes: 23:59 August 5

Rules

Full rules are here.

Vote for five games.

Your first choice gets 5 points, second 4 pts, third 3 pts, fourth 2 pts, fifth 1 pt.

Remember to choose games suitable for competition play. Edited votes will be discounted (unless told otherwise) so think before you post. Please only vote on one board - either EAB or Lemon.

If a game comes in ECS and AGA versions, please state your preference in your vote. In the event the versions differ gameplay-wise, the version with most votes will be played. ECS is the default if you don't specify.

The winners of Round 9 have double voting power for Round 10. (1 = 10 points, 2 = 8 points etc). However, because the voting for the next round ends before the current round ends, players must place their votes and wait for the current round to end to see who will have their vote doubled. If one person wins both games in Round 9 their vote is trebled.

Tactical or nosey voters can see the Lemon voting thread here.

The votes are not exactly flooding in, almost a week into the round. So let's get cracking.

1. Dimo's Quest
2. Datastorm
3. Blob
4. Car-Vup
5. Pinball Prelude

1) Super Cars
2) P.P. Hammer And His Pneumatic Weapon
3) X-It
4) Death Trap
5) Rock 'n Roll

Maybe for super cars we could choose 5 races or something like that.

Shouldn't be necessary - Super Cars has a highscore table.

The original Arkanoid isn't available to vote for. If you meant Revenge Of Doh then that is fine, though.

For Supercars we should do high score but with a timed lap decider. We did that last time and we needed it.

Voting is over and unfortunately that's another record-equalling low turnout, which no doubt explains the unimpressive points totals below.

1. Super Cars - 20
2. Dimo's Quest - 18
3. Datastorm - 12
4. Qwak - 9
5. Cannon Fodder - 8

Total votes: 10 - Total games voted for: 32

Super Cars isn't guaranteed victory but with potentially two votes being doubled in this round, it is definitely the most likely scenario.

That was necessary for Super Cars II because that has a very simple scoring system and many could max out the league results.

In Super Cars I that shouldn't be the case since the score consists of number of races + money as tie-breaker. How much money you have will vary a lot because of how much you have to spend for repairs, how much you buy in the store and how good your negotiations with the car dealer go.

We should be set with <number of races> * 1 million + cash in $. For the above example that would mean:

1. 14,064,000
...
3. 9,075,525

What happens if we only manage 4 races, and choose courses 1,2 5 and 6?, and dont get on the high score table. It would be great to find a way to clear the high scores somehow, or find a crack with a blank scores file.

EDIT: The girl in those images is beautifully well drawn, I think I'm in love

We can also take a screenshot of the game over-screen:

Score would be 10,033,225 because I didn't finish Race number 11.

But I'm sure there's a cracked version available with a less filled table.

The shop assistant is nice but the presenters eyes are deeper more seductive.

I guess we could always make it a rule that we play the tracks in order. Or does the game automatically call race 3 race 3 event if its track 6?

Yes it does. Order doesn't matter. If you start with tracks 9, 8 and 7 and the lose it'll show "race number 3" at the game over screen and "2 races" in the results desk show.

So no need for a rule.

Ok so

Game Over screen = Race -1 x 1M + Money.
Results desk = Race x 1M + Money.

Seems ok to me

Correct. We could also make it Races x 100k instead of 1M but I think it's easier with 1M as multiplier so money will definitely only serve as tie-breaker.
