Sometimes paused screenmode switching on D3D11 with JIT

I noticed this behavior only when I tried to display certain pictures with Multiview on a new screen (not in a window on WB), and only with D3D11, (with JIT), with a 1280x720 WB in RTG Fullscreen mode (also 1280x720, not native resolution) on a FullHD monitor.

The screenmode switching is paused, especially when I close the Multiview picture screen and the focus should go back to the WB screen, but that appears to be frozen. Then I have to click onto "Pause" to get the Workbench back to life. This only happens when there are no other open applications on the Windows desktop and Alt-Tab does nothing. If other PC windows are open the screenmode switching is working just fine.

No such paused screenmode switching with D3D9 or DirectDraw, or with native fullscreen resolution.

Up to WinUAE 3.6.0 everything still works correctly, also the D3D11 software mode won't crash with "Fullscreen" settings, but silently switches to "Windowed" mode unlike the newer WinUAE versions, but that's another issue.


Update: The paused screenmode switching occurs without JIT, too. Maybe there was an open PC window when I tested that before.

The aspect ratio appears to be wrong in D3D11 mode, since I have disabled scaling, but it is ok with D3D9 or DirectDraw. Of course, this could also be a Windows software problem.

D3D11 software mode does not support fullscreen. It has never supported fullscreen.

I have noticed D3D9/DD scaling can work (very) differently than D3D11 depending on GPU and GPU settings. It is normal.

Yes, unticking prevents the pause.

Unfortunately, Asus blocks the installation of newer Intel UHD Graphics 600 drivers (not validated) and also doesn't support the Intel Graphics Control Panel yet. So I can only hope that the Windows 1909 drivers are working better.

No sorry, it just crashes when the picture screen should be opened.

Does it still crash? (redownload and make sure executable date is today)

No, not crashing, but paused again.

Is VRR monitor a bomb? "Do not tick!"
