Problems with default icons in OS 3.9
Hi.
I have problems with the CDDA def icon not showing. I have it copied to ENV-Archive but it won't show the icon when I put in an Audio CD. I have both tried with the icon as project and disk but with no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks Volt. |

I'm curious about this too, even with boingbagging all the way to 4 there seems to be no autorun or icon for audio discs. I have to launch the player myself.

I have found it's something with the allegrocdfs cd handler. The control section in CD0 needs some stuff I guess.
Still researching... Volt. |

I didn't know you were using Allegro CDFS.
I found some a textfile about allegro CDFS which says the following: "For hybrid disk ISO/CDDA AllegroCDFS shows apicon ISO/CDDA. (def_ISOCDDA.info should be present in Envarc: drawer)¸ This appicon is used for choosing between ISO and CDDA support." http://cd.textfiles.com/amigaplus/so...A3/ReadMeFirst |

You are right about the disk icon not initializing and the disk reads as not a DOS Disk. Will see if I can find the error. Volt. |

With cachecdfs it's simple. Just add the line mentioned in greg donner's faq to the control field of your cd mountfile.

Please, also check the StackSize entry in the CD0 dosdriver file. It can cause problems if this StackSize is only 600 Bytes, like it sometimes was in very old CD0 files. Make sure that it is at least 4000 Bytes or more, because the stack of this device is used by the icon.library to load the appicon. The StackSize won't be increased by tools like StackAttack or MinStack, because CD0 is a device and not a process. If stack overflows occur then your system may even freeze or crash.
Strange that the appicons should be copied directly into ENVARC: and not into ENVARC:Sys/ as usual, since there are all other def_#?.info files. I would suggest to try both. Update: The "StackSize = xyz" entry in the file Devs:DosDrivers/CD0 is important, and not the Stack entry in its icon CD0.info Last edited by PeterK; 07 September 2013 at 09:38. |
