Speedball
Maybe this is a stupid question, but...
Can you tell me the differences between Speedball 1 and 2? Which one do you prefer? I have only Speedball 2 but someone told me the first one is the best for 2 players games. Is it right? |

I dont understand the captivation with the first, maybe if you played it before 2 you'd like it better, but I found it to be slow and horrible to play compared to the second :-(

There is really no comparison between Speedball 1 and 2. SB2 wins by a mile - it is a much better game. Note also that the CD32 version of SB2 has slightly varied GFX to the ECS version (there is no A1200 AGA version)- the team colours are less subtle making it easier to know which players belong to which team.
I actually also prefered it to the Bitmap Bros' followup game Speedball 2100 for the Playstation - the GFX were easier to see on the Amiga version of SB2, and I preferred the perspective used in the Amiga version. |

Agree with Galaxy - anyone that thinks SB1 is better than 2 needs a labotomy. It's slow, dull, and very limited.

I prefer Speedball 1.... and i guess it's because of nostalgia. SP1 has a much better "metal" design, it's really stylish.

Im amazed this question has even been asked! For me SB2 has always been infinitely superior to the original.
The original was great in its day but the sequel bettered it in every possible way. Oh and SB2 has the 'ice cream' speech. Nuff said |

Speedball was a great game.... until Speedball 2 came out. Suffice to say, I would much rather play SB2 than SB. Time has moved on, and SB hasn't aged well, though I do take issue with The Bitmap Brothers poor 25hz scrolling though, the Amiga could have done it in 50hz with relative ease.

I was talking about SB2. Doesn't stop it still being a cool game, but there really was no need for such pants scrolling, and then the CD32 version was just as bad!
