NP Peter
If anyone else is having trouble downloading stuff, with the same error message, please be patient and wait until Turran has read the posts above and made a fix, or given an explanation. Thanks |

No problems downloading that file here. I can only suggest not using a web browser to download files.
If you have to, use firefox. Edge does not work right and IE does not respect the ftp://ftp:amiga@ part that should log you in automatically but instead throws up a login requester. In general, browsers are moving away from embedded credentials in the URL for security reasons outlined in rfc3986, section 3.2.1 ( https://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3986.txt ), so if it has worked but no longer does, it might be a patch for the browser. Example: https://medium.com/@lmakarov/say-goo...s-b051f6c7b6a3 If this has become a problem for most browsers, perhaps its time to rethink the ftp:// links and just ask people to use a real client (or type the username and password each time they try to download a file through a browser). Example: ftp://grandis.nu/~Uploads/pgovotsos/..._Demo_Disk.adf Or with the user "ftp" prefilled (use any password): ftp://ftp@grandis.nu/~Uploads/pgovot..._Demo_Disk.adf If in doubt, use a real FTP client =) Last edited by Turran; 18 November 2018 at 09:26. |

Thanks Turran for the explanation. My browser attempt was done using the latest version of Firefox, so perhaps it's already been patched.
I also agree that people should use an ftp client, once setup, it's just as easy, if not better, than using the browser version. Filezilla is free, you can download it here https://filezilla-project.org |

Hello,
I have uploded some files in ~Upload zone under my name Falcon57 Applications - Public Domain AM 6000 - ProTracker v3.15 (1993)(Cryptoburners)(FW)[h Floppy International] Compilations - Various The Manta Force #38 - 3D Pool & Rick Dangerous & Bloodwich & Postman Pat & Intro 3D Pool & Bootvision (19xx)(The Manta Force) The name of this file is very long and windows can't open it. You can rename the zip files "The Manta Force #38 (19xx)(The Manta Force).zip", and it's works fine after. Thanks. Last edited by Falcon57; 14 January 2019 at 00:41. |

Host: grandis.nu / port: 21 Protocol: FTP Encryption: use explicit.. (have tried them all) Logon Type: Normal User / Password (the one I log into the forums with) Comes up with incorrect logon error (530) for password. |

that is the standard logon, I wanted to use my own account so it doesn't limit to 50k/s if that makes sense?

I'm a noob to ftp. I've registered as an EAB ftp user (confirmed) and installed FileZilla Client. What do I do now? My goal is to download all available WHDLoad files for my personal ROM library.
EDIT Never mind. I've Done it. That was actually pretty simple. Last edited by Soopytwist; 30 December 2018 at 14:35. |

No, I was wrong:
Response: 530 Sorry, your maximum number of connections from this IP (1) has been reached. Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server Status: Disconnected from server Status: Delaying connection for 5 seconds due to previously failed connection attempt... That's just transferring the "0" folder in Commodore_Amiga_-_WHDLoad_-_Games |
