Two versions of ArmourGeddon 2 released?

Hello,

A best friend and I revisited recently AG2 for fulfilling an long promised oath of playing and finishing the game, but we stumbled upon 2 versions of the game and we wonder which one is the finished/complete one.

The one I have on my backups since '93 has the following differences:
• The resources icons on the TACT map are green and do not blink
• When the game is waiting for user input at start, the demo that shows the various vehicles flying by does not start with the AG2 logo nor does it print the stats of the world, like many missions, map is that many km2 etc
• buttons are mapped differently (z for choosing weapon, x for activating, r for resolution)

The other version we found on the internet and runs on WHDLoad feels more complete, yet the differences affect the gameplay negatively. Here they are:
• The game's demo while idle starts with the AG2 logo zooming in folowed by stats of the world, vehicles flying by etc.
• On TACT map the friendly icons are yellow and they blink, a feature I find annoying. Same thing for the resources that are not captured
• A bug that occurs with the MDP, if you equip the MDP with Mini Missiles and send it out and arm the missiles, the missiles explode before leaving the vehicle and you take damage (shield is lowered)
• buttons are mapped differently ( w for choosing weapon, s for activating it, F7-F10 for resolution and view levels)

The latter seems to be a later version mostly due to the keymappings but some aforementioned features and behaviour leads me to think otherwise.

Does anyone have a clue on which one is the full version, or of any release details?

I wasn’t aware of different releases.
Have you tried running the WHDLoad version?

Forgot to mention it, the WHDLoad version is the latter i described. I will edit my original post to include this.

Yet, I believe that if I can find the ADFs for the former version that it would install with whdload as well.

The manual on lemonamiga lists F7-F10 as the detail and resolution keys.
Perhaps your first version is an early crack?

There are numerous versions and installs in the EAB FTP server.
Maybe take a look there.

@DDNI it could be the case, although that doesn't explain the MDP-miniMissile bug we encountered, rendering MDP pretty useless.

Maybe the missile bug is a form of copy protection?

Could be, but there is no copy protection dialog in that version whereas in the first one there is.
