Floppy disk CF Micro drive spin down / spin up delay?

Yo.

I have purchased a CF Seagate ST1 2.5 gig Micro Drive and 44 pin IDE adapter for my A1200 020 2mb. It will replace the existing 40mb 2.5 inch hard drive. I use kickstart 3.1 and workbench 3.1

I have read that micro drives spin-down when finished reading or writing a file, then spin up again the next time they are accessed.

With a 1 to 2 second spin up time, I am concerned that this is going to be a kind of "lag".

Hoping to hear from a user who may have a micro drive. Do the drives spin-down after each read/write, and does this cause some lag when they spin up again to open a workbench drawer or file?

Or, does the drive run continous like any other hard drive?

Cheers.
Matt.

I have the ST1.2 (4GB) on my A600.. I did not notice any kind of lag there.. (when open/close windows etc..)
