Plain HD install ?
I've started looking on HOL and noticed that large ammount of games has tag on HD install NO or UNKNOWN.
Some of them actually can be installed by hand (Assign, degrading amiga etc.) for example 1869; AstroKid; Castlevania, some even have own installers like Fury of the furries or nondos game Brian the Lion. Here is my question - is this tag only for games that have installer wrote my publisher, developer or fan made installer or maybe can tag game that can be even installed by hand, any advise? I have plenty games forced to work from HD: 1st Devision Manager 20,000 Leagues Under The S 3D World Soccer Dungeon Master 3.6 (hard installer but works) this titles are only example |

The field is for automatic installers. I don't know if they have to be by the developers or if custom (fan) made installers are also counted. I also have some games manually installed on HD and some require some effort to get them working. I think that is the reason why these are not counted

Hmm, I'm waiting for answer from HOL moderators or RCK. Only these members can edit such tags.

If a game can be installed, either using its own installer or assigns, then the HD field should be set to yes. The HD notes field is used to record the type and details of install.
As it is these fields are quite incomplete. |

Ok, Cody. So I can give list of games that are HD installable. Look into txt file attached to this post.
This list is in fact directory listing of my old HD games. All these games are plain installed for sometimes (that's rare) using fmsdisk.device (like Dungeon Master 3.6). Since i'm not a moderator I cannot edit these fields by myself so maybe you can use this list to add proper tags. Also... Alien Breed II (installer made by fan on aminet) Another World (easy installable) Blob (quite easy) BloodNET (installer with game, playing from disks is nightmare) Bomb'X Brian the Lion (installer with game) Bubba'n'Stix (I might be mistaken) BurnTime Last edited by haynor666; 30 September 2009 at 13:27. |
