Which buffers are you talking about? For SFS I set to 100 per the guide I read which I thought were the max.

Buffers are buffers, wether you set them in the RDB or via CLI.
Just temp set buffers by running the command in cli, once its all finished when you reset buffers are back to normal.

As I said though, I have always used 2000 buffers, never had one problem.
