IK+ NTSC fixed version?

I can't seem to find any disk of IK+ that will run on NTSC. I do see that on some of the cracked disks if I hold down the mouse the game will start after decrunching. (I think this bypasses the intro screen which is where it normally crashes). Is there an NTSC fixed version out there? Much appreciated.

you are right, fastly skipping the main menu make the game work in NTSC

ingame it does work, when returning to the main menu it will crash

wondering if the whdload fixes could be applied to a disk version

Would it be easy to modify the game to work in NTSC like the WHDLoad version does?

It's quite interesting that some European titles only got US releases for certain systems. Quite common for games past 91 that only the PC version made it to the US and the Amiga and ST versions never got a US release.

Interesting. That's about when I started using PC's too. Must have been that trip to California in '83.

Was there ever a NTSC release of IK+ for the Amiga? Chop 'n Drop? LOL Why did they even do that. Bad name for sure for the US market. It's IK+!

Not easy to tell without any proof. Mobygames thinks there was a US release of IK+, but there are no scans of that release or any US ads or reviews that I could quickly find.

Interesting find! I wrote the IPF image to disk and tried it on my NTSC Amiga 1000. It works! But on my NTSC Amiga 500 it won't run unless I go into PAL mode.

Interesting find Maybe somebody could explain why that is (so I could add a note to the HOL entry).

I can take a look at it, but I need to know the exact conditions, to be able to emulate the situations
The differences between the A1000 and A500 are not many, so it is very likely a race condition given that the VBI does not occur at the same time between the two machines.

Which IPF are we talking about?
What is the exact configuration of the A1000?
Does the game start by replicating the same configuration in WinUAE?

I think it may be because the A1000 has the old Agnus and can't do PAL so maybe it just works? The A500 has the 1MB Agnus and can do both, and only works when in PAL mode or it crashes on the tiitle screen. (If you press and hold the mouse button it skips the title and starts normal) I used this SPS title in TOSEC.

IK+ (1991)(Hit Squad, The)[budget][2063].zip

The A1000 I am using right now is a stock A1000 NTSC with 512k Chip and 1MB Fast inside, but it also has an ACA500 connected with a ACA1220 card, but I booted in Kickstart 1.3 mode with all extras turned off. I can test a bone stock A1000 to see if it works on that too...

I just did a test in WinUAE in A1000 emulation mode and can't get it to work. Needs to be in PAL to get past the title screen...
