@lubomyr - is there a way to get 800x600 and 1024x768 resolution modes for P96 workbench setups?

Android port of uae4arm support different resolution modes:
640x400, 640x480, 800x480, 800x600, 960x540, 1024x600, 1024x768, 1280x720, 1280x800, 1920x1080.

I do not recommend use Amikit in HDD folder. Better create it as hardfile image.

Prefs/ScreenMode (from Workbench)

I mean only that file screenmode.prefs (prefs/Env-Archive/Sys) generated under uae4arm is not same as genereted under WinUae or FS-Uae.

I could not make it work so I went aahead and installed Amikit in Uae4Arm.

As far as I can tell the installaton went fine. I am using an hdf file for Amikit.

But when I start the 1200 config I am getting alot of "software failure press lef mouse button" type of errors. I have been clicking for a while but there is no end to this.

Is there a way to start AMikit properly? What are the causes in your opinion?


I am using Android 5.1 Samsung Rom (rooted) with the settings you recommended above.


Also I used FS-UAE to create the hdf. It provides 2 types of HDF. Is there a preference that one must take for creating HDF? I made sure that it was bootable (since it was able to boot from it to install Amikit)

Some additional step for amikit
1) device name for amikit hardfile: ak0
2) You must disable running ShowAmiga96 (BootPicture) in startup-sequence
;SYS:Utilities/Expansion/ShowAmiga96/Bin/ShowAmiga96_Rev239C18

But a lot of errors which you described can caused only with incompatible screenmode.prefs.
To get correct screenmode.prefs. You can create simple hddir or hardfile, install workbench, install picasso96. Run ScreenMode, select any uaegfx mode, save settings, and store somewhere file screenmode.prefs (from prefs/Env-Archive/Sys folder). then copy this file to amikit hardfile (into prefs/Env-Archive/Sys folder).

Thanks for the reply.

I did not know what to do whict that ShowAmiga96 file (was binary) so I just renamed it in another Amikit session. It now starts with some errors. I also changed it to 68020 I think that helped.

In that respect, which screenmode do you recommend ?

Sorry to ask again but how do you get the keyboard up on a non touch device as in my Nvidia shield tv please?

My Amikit starts super highres even I set up to 1280x800. I would like bigger fonts and abit pixelated look.

I reinstalled Picasso and removed the Amikit Cat image from startup. I also renamed ShowAmiga96_Rev239C18 but that gives and error however it takes care of the recoverable software error screen.


FR: It would be nice if the tab key is listed on the main keyboard view.

Thanks for the new version Lubomyr. I'm getting strange CPU speeds though with this new JIT.

I also get the same scores with 68020 !

If you try a WHDLoad game, like 4D Sports Driving at for instance 68040 Fastest NO GIT, it's quite slow and jerky but if you change the CPU to 25 Mhz it's faster !!

I don't know if this is all down to TomB, can you give it a quick check on yours please ? I also get a bit lower scores when 'Seperate thread for Video' is ON.

There have also been reports on the Raspberry Pi forum that this new JIT version is slower in Games/Demos but not in Benchmarks.

But i can't confirm that new jit is slower than previous in games and demos. As for me very complex 3d games and demos with new jit run more smooth.

Lubomyr I wanted to personally thank you for this great port. It is almost the only thing that justifies my Nvidia Shield Portable purchase compared to my PSP. That and being able to play Yoshi's Island and Street Fighter 3 in full speed on a portable device.

As I said, I get almost the same result with 68020, this can't be right, and with JIT ON, 25, 14 and 7 Mhz give the same result. Did you try any WHDload games with JIT OFF and Fastest CPU ? I tried 4D Sports Driving and Arachnophobia and they performed faster when I switched to 25 Mhz !! Something strange is afoot. This is not the correct behavior.
