Day of the Tentacle

Hello guys,

Was just having a quick flick through HOL when I saw Day of the Tenticle.

http://hol.abime.net/3442

I know this game is the sequal to Maniac Mansion.

I've actually finished this on the PC buit didn't think there was an Amiga version... Can anybody confirm it's existence?

Ah, I see.

I quite liked this game, would have been cool if they released the completed game on tha Amiga. Oh well.

Ooops missed the notes on the HOL page "Not an original Amiga release, but playable only through ScummVM interpreter"

Anyone tried the CD with audio with this game? Do the voices fit the characters. I think I've had their voices imagined in my head for too many years to listen to them now.

Wouldn't want anyone reading this to get confused, so... it's not "Day of the Tenticle", it's not even "Day of the Testicle", but rather: "Day of the Tentacle"

Just a question about ScummVM.....:
Can you run games like Sam & Max, Day of the TENTACLE and others with
just an A1200 with no Fastram????
Cause i didn't have found the requirements for the Aga version of ScummVM!

Thanks

This can be done using WinUAE right?

Is it a simple process or quite complex?

You can run the simpler games like Monkey Island 2, Simon The Sorcerer 2 etc with a '030 I guess but games like Broken Sword 2 needs the PPC version of ScummVM

It's better to just run the windows port of ScummVM.

Day of the Tentacle runs really fine and FAST on a A1200/030 (50Mhz.) with AGA

Other ScummVM games do not run so fast .... but DotT is really nice ....

WAKE UP !! BOTH DOTT AND SAM & MAX ARE PERFECTLY PLAYABLE ON A STANDARD A1200 (68EC20 with no extension other than fast ram)...

you just have to use systempatch 2.96 (available on http://web.tiscali.it/ziosante/) before launching scummaga0.38.2 (with -d option to disable sound and make it faster, available on www.mountmonkey.com/downloads_scummvm.html). it patches graphics.library to improve writechunkypixels function so that the game plays smooth most of the time (some of the sequences may slow down a bit but still very fun!!!)
the only trouble with scummaga 0.38.2 is that the protection sequence seems to crash with original floppy version ..... you have to find either a crack or CD images to make it work. (but you'll find it quickly believe me!)

your link don"t work

another patch works fine to accelerate os with scummVM (read scummaga doc)

badly even if last version support aga ScummVM-0.7.1-68k.lha it's less fast like with old scummVMAga...
