Which drugs to you take? This is the most stupid post I've read in a LONG time. Congrats.

This thread is getting way out of control...

I must say that I'm shocked at some of the comments here. Just because somebody isn't as good a coder as some of you are doesn't mean you should publicly flame the hell out of any work that they do. Everybody needs to start somewhere, so what if it's taking them longer to come to grips with things that you consider easy. People learn at their own pace / ability...

Some of the "elitist" attitude displayed here is absolutely appalling, arrogant and not to mention very discouraging to anybody just trying to have a go

There's that old saying: "if you don't have anything positive to say then say nothing at all". Enough is enough

@DamienD

Well, demoscene is all about 1337-ism, arrogance and things like that.
If you cannot stand/face it, you're obviously playing in the wrong field. Quite simple!

Oh, IMHO of course! :P

Okay Damien I see your point. So can someone post working links to the A500 demos? Both the links in the first post aswell as the links on Pouet aren't working. I only saw the demos from 2005, so maybe these ones are better. I still have to say that making a 'demo' which only shows the characters of the system on a single screen is in my opinion not a demo and when you decide to release it you'll surely get some feedback. I wish that SoLo2 would show up and explain why they were making it.

What I (and other moderators) cannot stand is constant flaming on EAB. This is a friendly, inviting place. If you guys want to flame each other then please do it on other forums and not here...

Ok. So Solo2 just posted in the wrong place. His fault, not ours! ;D

;end of sarcasm

On a serious note, some of the replies might seem rude, but IF you were part of the scene (and you just stated you are proud of being not), you'd know the reason why. Or maybe not. Dunno. Who gives a f00k anyway! We're just a bunch of old farts playing kindergarden jokes in the end!

There is a difference between flaming and stating an opinion. But if you prefer people that applaud everything, no matter how bad it is (and face it, the BITS demos ARE bad) then so be it.

StingRay I swear you deliberately miss the point sometimes.

Yes - you are, of course, free to state if something isn't very good. Fine. But really, deliberately setting out to humiliate them and slag them off just isn't on. And that is clearly what you, amongst others, are doing. Now constructive criticism is great, heck, even a bit of banter and a joke is good, but I think to do it the way you have is going too far. It's still a lot of effort to learn how to code in the first place (heck, I only program in Blitz Basic so God knows what that makes me) and being considerate to other peoples' feelings really isn't much to ask.

I think Damien and Rabbit80's earlier comments are spot on. All involved cut it out please and take your worthless, arrogant and elitist comments elsewhere.

No, you're right, you're missing the point too (and the rest of my post, curiously...?)

I'm sorry, but demo scene elitism or whatever has no place here, there isn't an excuse for it. End of. Any more and this thread will be locked.

Graham you are overreacting to a ridiculous level. Someone posted a couple of hilarious "demos" and we had a laugh about it. Big deal.

@Graham & DamienD

Thanks - I had enough of the flame war that was starting here. Its completely unfair to new members to slag them off without knowing either them or their abilities. Its good to see that the mods on this forum will step in when necessary to prevent these things getting out of control!
