Good call Aladin! v1.0.1 released which removes the Assign requirement.

That was an oversight as it's supposed to use PROGDIR: on KS2.0+

The game is really funny. I got to the blue mug combo so far, but it is very addictive. Nice music, too and I appreciate you can choose the tune.

Thanks man, I’m really pleased you like it. How exciting to be listed on Lemon Amiga as well!

Fantastic, I love it.

Everything's great (the concept, gameplay, graphics, sound effects, music).

The background slowly filling up with land fill is a nice touch.

I keep forgetting that I can do that.

A splendid puzzle game indeed! It caused me some existential dread and confusion, but I think that might just be me. I did a first impressions video of it here if you'd like to take a look: [ Show youtube player ]

This looks like fun! Reminds me of Bejeweled!

The music is funky too, not too intrusive but at the same time, gives you a nice pace to follow the game. Does the tempo change depending on level/speed of game?

It was funny watching you play. I quite like your existential crisis - I'm happy to make something that generates a reaction rather than something bland.

The gameplay isn't designed to be confusing though, so I might label the new items as they appear to make it clear what everything is and what the connections are. I may also tweak some of the modes to differentiate them - there are differences but they're perhaps too subtle...

If I'm honest I was also confused... so many new combos and with my goldfish memory

Maybe put the last 4 combos or so that you discover down the left hand side of the play panel or something?

Though, not sure how this would work in other game modes where the play panel is landscape as opposed to portrait.

Otherwise, very cool game indeed clebin. Well done!!!

In case anyone's interested, Landfill is now out for iPhone/iPad:

Landfill on the App Store

Also, a bit of news I meant to post at the time... The Amiga version got reviewed in Retro Gamer magazine. I was absolutely thrilled, especially getting 86%! I'd chatted with my friend about the ambition of getting into the Homebrew section but it was just silly talk. I didn't really expect to do it.

Anyway, I went to WHSmith to buy a couple more copies, feeling very proud. I still haven't got round to framing it yet...

Aw, thanks everyone! Yeah, it really meant a lot to get into print as well as the lovely reaction here.

Biggest thanks obviously go to Saimon69 for the amazing Amiga music. I was thinking about why I was so bad with communicating and posting updates at the time and then I remembered, we had a baby a week later, so I was...

On more thing I remember from the time and never posted...

In the screenshot above* you see Aberthaw power-station, which is a coal-fired power station on the South Wales coast near me and a real blot on the landscape.

In a nice coincidence, on the same day I released Landfill - 1st August 2019 - they announced its permanent closure:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-49193011

*in the Amiga version, the rubbish accumulates and the power-station appears later. Some people thought that was a bit odd, so in the iOS version it gradually disappears instead!

Hey, any plans for an Android version or even a Nintendo Switch one as R3d team did for Bidge Strike?

Yep, Android version is definitely on the cards. Mac next - that just needs to be added to the release. A Switch version would be cool, but might depend on sales. I don't have a Switch and the handful of sales so far won't even pay for the charger!

The feedback has been amazing but I need to get it into more people's hands somehow. I don't have a marketing bone in my body, sadly...
