I'd probably go for one as well, if only there wasn't an expensive customs wall between us..

One would think resourceful people like most AMiga owners/users are, would have learned by now the fine art of gear smuggling through all borders

I think rather we have the experience to determine whether something is worth taking a chance on. Not everything is caught, but you need to calculate into the equation that some stuff will be.

Campaign over!
$16,973 USD raised by 243 backers, 160% of goal.

Congratulations, basman74, and I am looking forward VERY much to my Ohm board!!

One question: I see in an older revision there was a "retro connector" daughterboard for the GPIO, where can we get that from? I would love to have DB9 joystick ports.
One more hardware related question: can we output RGB @ 240P from this baby?

Also, is there anywhere we can check progress on the C64 core for the FleaFPGA?

@Akira:
These might be helpful for a start, but to tell you the truth, I would be happier if someone else with more knowledge than me would come up with a more or less readymade solution for the fleafpga Ohm. Either way, I will surely try to do somehing about it when I have the board.

And of course, congrats to Valentin and I am eagerly waiting for the boards to be shipped.

Thanks for that!
The issue is, will these be supported by the cores running on the Flea?

From what I understand the AMIGA Core will have some GPIO pins configured as if they are the joystick pins/port so you just wire directly to them. There will be no software required, it is baked-in within the Core.
Hopefully we can also have AMIGA mice connected as another option.
There is no other controller on this FPGA board so it won't be able to run that Linux code.
The MiST has a separate chip/controller for USB features/control.

I did use the linked shortcuts on my RPi and fitted a dtype to my RPi case.

That sounds great!
Amiga mice sounds a bit more complicated because there's analog input involved.

Amiga mice are digital. No need for any D/A converter.

Thanks for schooling my ignorant ass.
Here I was thinking they were analog!

Is there any way to still get in on this? I missed it because I've only just read the thread. I'm not so much interested in it as an Amiga - I have enough of those already but more for the other possibilities as an FPGA dev board.

The Next186 core looks MIGHTY interesting too, I have to say it might be the one that caught my eye the most!

Thanks to everyone who backed my Ohm project! Now the real 'fun' begins..

Due to some unforeseen serious events popping up on my daily job, I currently only have enough free time available to focus on getting the actual boards made and tested (and very little else right now from a hobby aspect). Will push on regardless.

Unfortunately, that 'retro+wifi' hat designed for my larger FPGA prototype is not compatible with my current Ohm board. Given the luxury of time, I would normally have attempted to whip up a nice new PCB hat specific to zero-sized Ohm board. Cannot promise anything else right now so we'll have to see..

RGB? You mean, via analog or HDMI?

Analog RGB: Might be possible from the GPIO (assuming either sufficient pins for discrete RGB DACs, or some kind of modulated RGB out to minimize pincount..).

Using HDMI: I'm reading some conflicting info regarding 240p and HDMI. I do recall problems running Minimig using NTSC mode with Amber disabled (supposedly yielding a slightly-tweaked 240p mode..).

You won't find that anywhere sorry. While a functional port of an old-build FPGA-64 core exists (and I did it mainly as a learning exercise) it is not even close to the level of refinement of either Minimig or Next186 from an end-user standpoint. I stopped all work on that port 12 months ago when I got Minimig working..

Further, redistributing either sources or compiled binaries appear problematic IMHO: Apart from the fact that I have not yet asked Peter Wendich if I can actually do so, there is also the added problem of commodore ROM images needing to be hardcoded in the FPGA-64 core. I have no workaround for that.

Regards,
Valentin

Via analog. I saw you can connect those Pi displays through the GPIO, so I thought this would be compatible with it:

I'm sad to hear about the C64 core though. I hope you work it out. Some other people should get into coding for this, or at least I hope that happens.

By the way, VICE has all the C= ROMs and no one is complaining.

I feel like repeating myself, but I cannot recall having seen any answer Is there anything fundamental that prevents one from using a pi zero (with a OTC USB hub) as "controller" for keyboard, mouse, joysticks etc? Given that code is written for the pi, of course.

Seems like FleaFPGAs are ready to be shipped some time early 2018! Good holiday news for all backers.

I think you should contact Valentin directly. He is here at EAB as basman74 or try https://www.fleasystems.com/contact.html
