"Viva Amiga" Zach Weddington movie

Not sure if this movie was noticed on EAB however i discovered it accidentally and even based on short trailer and slightly longer presentation i need to say it is great - enjoy listen people directly involved in Amiga this is still fresh and emotionally intense.
Highly recommended to All.

Several updates appeared on their kickstarter page last year. So I hope that it will be finished someday.

Yeah I'm sure its still coming, just one of those projects where they didn't realize quite how much more work was needed, or they are obsessed getting it just right...probably both!

Looks like they're still adding more stuff to the movie.
This is the last update I got from Kickstarter on Dec 9 2014:

"hi all
my name is Paul Kitching and I've been creating some of the 3D for the Viva film, I am also helping update the various related groups and pages.
we are pleased to announce the film is on schedule to be complete this year, and we
are hopeful to find a distributor early in 2015.
please keep checking back here, as I will be providing more updates in the following days.
thank-you for your patience, we at Viva Amiga appreciate it!
regards,
Paul."

I'm friends with Paul and will ask him to sign up if he hasn't already and come over with possible some news or updates, I do know that the film is most definitely still in production and as the old saying goes, "it will be done when its done" greats things are never rushed and I believe this is one of them.

Keep the faith and remember Only Amiga Makes It Possible

hi, i'm Paul

firstly, thanks to Greyfox for asking me to sign up here - cheers m8

the Viva Amiga film is definitely on its way soon, when? i can't say as we've hit a few more problems, but we are now making progress again.

i have one more object to complete and this will then be added to the timeline, and colour-corrected, etc. while this is happening, i know Zach is busy looking for ways to distribute and market the film, etc. we are certainly on the final stages of this, and look forward to when we can say it's all complete and ready to ship

thanks for understanding

Paul

Count me in too. Was looking forward to its release since i first heard from its production. Nice to hear its all going on and that it isn't one of those abandoned products the Amiga brand has seen in the past so many of.

Great.

I met Zach at Amiwest a few years ago, as he was filming for viva amiga.
I just wish the homepage was kept updated, like the kickstarter page has.

Hi all,

I just read that this has been 'finished' and an initial screening took place.
Is anything happening about us Euro residents that missed the Kickstarter and would like physical copies?
I am sure someone or Amiga Kit could help distribute.
There is going to be a lot of people who missed backing this one who will want to watch

The entire film was shown after the "Amiga 30" event in Germany, people were quite dissapointed: most of the interviews who made it into the film were described as "already filmed" when the kickstarter campaign was launched, the animations were jerky, people described it as "not worth *that* kind of money" or "doesn't look like five years of work" etc.

Well, let's wait to see the finished article before we judge. A lot of expectation has been built up -it can be hard to live up to this phantom. Hearsay is not often reliable.

Interesting. The reaction was the opposite at the Amiga30 event in the US. Maybe that's partially due to the amount of ex-Commodore staff that was at the event?

this has been shocking list of events, I also backed this film , yet I've had to wait for nearly 5 years and then discover that the film being shown to possible people who did not even back the film , get to see it before the backers do this in my opinion is a disgrace and shouldn't have done that to paying backers, and the perks that have been promised are nowhere to be seen either or what the progress is?.

I've attempted a few times now to find how where things are and what's is required to help this get out there. I'm so dishearten about all of this now, the Amiga years been only a couple of weeks away will possible be everything Viva Amiga could of and should of been? At this stage a digital download would simple be enough to honour the backers of this kickstarter now, but that looks like it's off the table too.
