Trojan Phazer Gun for Amiga and Atari
Hello all,
I own one of these guns and I was wondering if it can work on a LCD TV or if it only works on old CRT TVs and Monitors. Please let me know if you have any information about this gun, thanks! Depends on the Lightgun. The Nintendo Zapper would just black out the screen and leave a white block on the thing you're supposed to shoot. If the white block is seen by the sensor in the Lightgun, then it registers a shot. I could see this not working on an LCD due to lag.
The later kind of Lightguns that goes by the CRT refresh frequency obviously wouldn't work without a CRT. It seems like this could be adapted to an LCD without too much drama, just do like the Zapper does and for multiple targets instead of white blocks use different colored blocks for different targets. For LCD lag you just run a calibration at the game start so it can figure out how much lag is seen by the lightgun. |

Just a small update...
A friend of mine borrowed me his CRT TV and I tested the gun and it works perfectly. Not having the space for a CRT TV, though, I decided to sell the gun so, if anyone cam be interested, I just put it on Amibay for sale. Thanks to all those who helped me on this thread! |
