I just found this project, and would like to order some boards.
Looked at the gerber and see they are joined in a way unknow to me. How do you seperate the 2 boards? Why not use breakout tabs? |

Is it possible to get the gerbers for the boards seperate? So I can panelize them with other boards? And join them with breakout tabs.

I've used this:
Take care that you are using a circular saw blade (is this called so?) which is not too thick!! Measure! Use one with many teeth ! |

Split the Gary side away with a hacksaw and cleaned the edge with a file.. Got the memory on and 2 100uF caps, plugged in and working.. Happy Days.. |

This is geat patzik! If you remove the jumper traces so it all can be jumpered this would be your next step to make it better

JP4 on the GA still have the jumper trace.
To be honest, there is no need to remove the traces on RASU1, RASU3 and RASU4. But have a trace where is supposed to be a jumper can be a little confusing. Anyway, great job, everyone! |

Oh, yes, JP4 trace has to be removed !!
I've sent him my ideas to make this perfect, have posted these some months ago here in this thread but sadly no one want to do this. Just simple things for the eagle guys. Maybe patzik does the final version Mainly, it's for the community here. At the moment i have enough ramexpansions but maybe i'll do another collective order with "the final" one if someone makes the gerber Last edited by katarakt; 21 September 2018 at 19:50. |

I'll have a look at it when I have some time, not sure if I understand all you wanted in the PM, so I'll get back to you on that...
Can't find JP4, where is that? (edit, never mind.... found it) What do you guys think about replacing the jumpers with solder pads? This way you can configure it with a 'blob' of solder, and change it if necessary (which I don't think will be needed often, if at all...) Also I don't want to change the design completely, how, do the original designers of this project look at these changes? Last edited by patzik; 25 September 2018 at 00:15. |

Nooo, never ever solder pads! Stick with jumper, this will be fine. The orignal designers are happy with every changes who makes it better, so go for it

Can someone please confirm:
If LED is soldered and ramexpansion is jumpered/switched to disabled the LED is off and on if ramexpansion is jumpered/switched enabled ? I haven't tested this yet and can test this earliest at the weekend. Patzig is going to finish the final optimized version Thanks a lot in advance |

No, I think the led will always be on when the expansion is plugged in, regardless of whether it's enabled or not.
