OK Amiga Demo Scene fans...

Some notes on this release:

The demo 'Total Triple Trouble' goes a bit funny on one of the copper effects, it just didn't agree with my MPEG encoder. And one of the other demos goes funny for a split second, apart from that they all encoded pretty fine.

Dont play this DVD on a monaural TV as it has the original Amiga style 4 channel audio.

This is best viewed on a standard TV (not PC monitor or LCD/Plasma screen) just as the original Amiga was intended to be viewed.

It features nice motion menus with music from classic Amiga games on each.

The demos will play concurrently, so you can select to play the first one, then leave it to run through them all if you want.

This is actually my 3rd DVD creation, I may put the other 2 up for D/L if this is well received.

The DVD contains the following 22 demos (giving a running time just short of 3 hours)

Total Triple Trouble - Rebels
The Hunt For 7th October - Cryptoburners
System Violation - Anarchy
Decaying Paradise - Andromeda
Sunrise - Angels
Despair - LSD
Ray of Hope 2 - Majic 12
Infinite Dreams - Paradise
Alfa Omega - Pure Metal Coders
Voyage - Razor 1911
Boombastic Style - Rebels
Elysium - Sanity
Spasmolytic - Spaceballs
Global Trash - The Silents
3D Demo II - Anarchy
Zyclonium - Parasite
D.O.S. - Andromeda
Hardcore - Anarchy
SOS - Melon Dezign
Technological Death - Mad Elks
Crash Test - Cryptoburners
Pha Q - Scoopex

Have fun!

The password can be found under comments (the same place as the second quote )

I really prefer downloadin than buying it because of shipping costs from UK to any other countries... In fact DL is faster
This has nothing to do with paying respect to his efforts. I can image that this projects are a lot of work...
btw... i'm currently downloading the DVD you've linked to, even if it will last 4 days until completion.

The whole seeding bullshite attitude is why it doesn't work!!!

Whats your upload rate on 8mb connection??

If its anything like mine (1.5/256), it would take 8 people, with 8mb connections, seeding at full load (1mb i guess) just to let you download at 8mb!!! plus another 8 for the other guy?

Torrents don't work like other p2p, (emule, kazza whatever!)
everyone has to share what they have download as they download it, i don't understand it to be honest!!!

This DVD...i am generally sharing at twice the speed i'm downloading!
Not fair! but better to try and help others!

Amiga Demos DVD - Volume 1

Quote:
This was my first attempt at making a demo DVD, and features my favourite demos of all time.

People have mentioned the MindCandy project and the similarities, but I must stress that Mindcandy was in no way my inspiration for this.
I actually did something similar to this back in the mid-nineties on VHS, so the seed of the idea was planted LONG before Mindcandy was even thought about.

And anyway, this is free!

These demos were all captured from a real Amiga 1200 via an external MPEG encoder.

The actual size of the DVD would have been over 10Gigs without cutting down on the quality of the demos!!

The Demos will all play concurrently, so you can just start the first one from the menu, then leave it to run through them all.

The menu is pretty basic, and the music on the menu is at quite a loud level compared to the demos.

That little niggle aside, I was quite pleased with the outcome, and the quality of the demos didn't suffer that much.
(thanks to DVD Shrink 3.2!)

This image is best burnt at speeds of 4x or lower, otherwise you may get video stutter.

Anyway, enjoy this nostalgic look back at the vibrant Amiga Demo scene.

Hope you enjoy this effort, and look out for my other productions.

Contents:

9 Fingers - Spaceballs
Aphrodisae - Haujobb
Arte - Sanity
Authentik - Skarla
Braincell - Union
Cyberlogik - Sector 7
Explorer - Delight
Friday at 8 - Polka Brothers
Jesus on Cheese - SHITTS
Man on the Moon - Faculty
Mindabuse - Limited Edition
Mindflow - Stellar
Napalm - Floppy
Nexus 7 - Andromeda
Paradisio - Drifters
Radiation - Vertical Syndicate
Reflexity - Sector 7
Rise - TRSI
Roots 2 - Sanity
Symbolia - Access
Synergy - Sector 7
The Breath of the Muse - Chrysis & Poseidon
The Prey - Polka Brothers
Wit Premium - Freezers

Total running time = 110 mins.

The Amiga will NEVER die!

Amiga Demos DVD - Volume 2

Quote:
This is the second installment of my Amiga Demo DVD trilogy.

It offers some aesthetic improvements on the menus, namely the motion menus.

Again, this image is best burned at speeds of 4x or lower.

Running time = 144 mins.

Hope you enjoy this nostalgic look back at the Amiga Demo scene in its heyday.

J.Tramiel

Enjoy, if you wait a few days the download speed might be faster

I'm running µTorrent since yesterday and downloading the OLDSKOOL DVD &
C64demoDVD2.7zip both at about 50kb/s. Think it's quite OK. Hoping it will be finished today.

btw... why should the PW not published here in the forum when you can get it easily on piratebay?

yeah, sorry about the lame-assed download speed guys, it's because I am the only seeder and like 30+ people are trying to download them from me all at the same time.

On top of that, I can only spare to upload at 50kbps, so its gonna be a week or so before you get anywhere near a decent download speed.

Even than it might be crap if nobody seeds!

In case anybody missed it, the password for Volume 3 is:

UrMoMiStEh1337pWnZ0R

Volumes 1 & 2 are not passworded.

If you want to see the video sampler of Volume 3 there a crappy jerky lo-res googlevid here:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...03349802456477

(This was a WIP made before it was fully complete)
It features the DVD Intro, A couple of menus and a clip from my favourite demo on there (Technological Death by the Mad Elks)

Have Phun!

PS

The content list for volume 2 =

Alien - Scoopex
Brainstate in a Box - Cryptoburners
Desert Dream - Kefrens
Enigma - Phenomena
Extension - Pygmy Projects
Fruit Kitchen - Silents
Full Moon - Virtual Dreams / Fairlight
Goa - The Black Lotus
Hardwired - Crionics / Silents
Love - Virtual Dreams / fairlight
Makaveli - Essence
Megademo II - Budbrain
Mental Hangover - Scoopex
Miracles - Stellar
Mobile Destination Unknown - Spaceballs
No Name - Polka Brothers
Parallax - Zif
Sound / Vision - Reflect
Sumea - Virtual Dreams / fairlight
Television - Bizarre Arts
Tint - The Black Lotus
Traffic - Mystic
Wayfarer - Spaceballs
World of Commodore - Sanity
