AMIGA Video formats
Which Video Formats are best for playing on OCS/ECS or AGA without additional graphics/Sound Hardware?
Are there good players/converters on the Amiga? |

CDXL is the chipset codec for Amiga. CDTV came with it but there are others.

Currently all the most common video formats are supported by Amiga, the best player is FFPlayer but you need a powerful Amiga and a graphics card.

Agaconv for Amiga?
I found AGA Blaster for Amiga but Not the agaconv for Amiga.
I use an Amiga emulator on Android (UAE4ALL2), so how can I Convert mp4 Videos to cdxl videos on my emulated Amiga? I don't have a PC, No Windows, No Linux... Can agablaster play other Video formats Like mp4, mov, flv, mpeg1, mpeg2 etc.? I didn't find a working Player for those Formats... I also didn't find Hamp... |

I remember trying out MPEG1 decoding of Video CD's on my A1200/68030@50MHz. I can't remember how well that went, but it probably didn't run at 25fps...

FFPlayer as suggested above should handle those formats. As also said above, you'll need an extremely powerful "Amiga" with an RTG setup.

Any good video Format/Player in Amiga?
I have a nice replayer for CDXL Videos, but I can Not Convert mp4 or Other Formats to it.
Is there any Other Video Format and a good Player for it for AGA Amigas with 68020 without fpu and without additional graphics or sound hardware? |

Most of the videos you see in YT of people playing videos without a Graphics card are AVI2HV/Hamp and now there's AGABlaster they both have there own playing software but conversion for for AVI2HV is on Windows for AGABlaster is on Ubuntu.
Of course you can create CDXL on Amiga but converting MP4 on 68k Amiga might be possible but not exactly fast or easy. Last edited by Retro1234; 20 February 2020 at 20:26. |
