Now its all done =) Moved virtual machine containing FTP to another ESXi server using vMotion, using a temporary NFS fileserver for the data. Removed disks from old ESXi server. Put them in the new server. Setup a new raid etc (nice and clean). Moved virtual machine containing FTP to the new machine. Also had a rogue snapshot file which I had missed. It had grown to 325Gb so it took 24h to consolidate the disk back... Thats why it took a little while extra to finish. All with 0 downtime =) |

Thanks Turran
Out of curiosity, this change results in better download / upload speed ? I have no problem with the speed, but just to know |

No, we were pretty much maxed out there already. This was just a tech refresh to not sit on 6 year old server. Doubt the faster CPU & memory have any effect on transfer speeds. |

While I'm at it, I'm gonna make a full backup. Best way to do that is when the machine is offline, so turning it off for a little while. I'll let you know when its back.

OS disk is 100GB Data is 8TB, but its only 3.6TB used. Using Thin Provisioning on that one (Grow disk as it needs space) so that file is only 3.6TB. All the files are backed up to another server here, so double the space requirements. Everything is also backed up to google drive, but that is not my space being used (only my money...). And the offline full backup, so... A lot ? =) |

I expected more. :P
(but I guess it is enough for Amiga-only - esp. if there is any kind of deduplication going on) |

Up-to-date Redump.org CD/CD32/CDTV set (minus two APC-TCP titles) incoming to my user upload folder.
These have different crcs to the TOSEC images, that's why I chose to up them as well. |

Is it just me or does the sever go offline quite often? Also I noticed something mentioned about a speed boost for registered user, is that still an option?
I do thank you for the access to the server, I am not really complaining, just curious. |
