Virus by D. Braben working with 512k chip
The only (AFAIK?) slave of Virus works fine on my A600, but not on my A500 - there it says 'Needs 544000 bytes chipmem to run', which is more than the 524288 chipmem available.
The main goal is to take it for a spin in my A500-040 machine I've checked whdload.de and KG, seems last update was 1999. If it's a simple fix, would someone have a look and correct it? |

Have you not simply tried a non WHDLoad version? Its only a single file crack after all.

OK, I'll try all cracks I can get hold of and report back.
If there's still any issues I can do some crack and/or WHDLoad-slave testing, if you like. Edit: Seems there is only one (easily findable at least) and it's trackloaded. Haven't put it to floppy as it seems to be the same trained one. I wanted to compare it to how the ACA630 runs it, bit silly perhaps but... That trackloaded version works, but I'd like to make sure the caches are set to "the fastest that runs it correctly", just like on the ACA630 WHDLoad version. Galahad is right of course, if I can get the non-trackloaded version so I can install it on HDD (I had that once way back on my 52MB harddisk ), all is fine. Unless there are some patches made in the WHDLoad version that allows it to run without degradation, of course. IIRC there was an old Defjam/CCS (?) disk, you know the ones with doubled Topaz-fonts on chunky copper-stripes as menu, where it should be as a file version. Anyway, I'll have a look and make a request, if there's no problem then there's no need for a slave fix. Last edited by Photon; 10 January 2011 at 00:04. |
