[SOLVED] Picasso96 with uaegfx Z3 RTG: 32bit limited to 1024x2048?

Today I noticed a strange thing: I can't select screenmodes in real 1920x1080 at 32bit (or 24bit changing some RTG WinUAE settings). Modes higher than 64K have max limited screen size of 1024x2048… I need 1920 horizontally! Of course I've set RTG Z3 mem up to 512MB but didn't help.

Why this? How can I make WB actually see real 1920x1080 at 24/32bit?

Usual information needed... But it sounds like you don't really have RTG RAM size you think you have. Or you have too many monitor drivers enabled and there is some total mode number limit?

ALL 32bit modes have 1024 horizontal limit which is quite strange:

No, I have only PAL + NTSC + uaegfx in DEVS:Monitors (ignore that UAEp mode, I was trying editing a Picasso custom mode without success… I have deleted DEVS:PicassoSettings). The strange thing is that WB runs in 1920x1080 anyway, but I can't choose that 32bit res for gfx programs that will force open max 1024x1920 32bit screens (!??)… All 64K screens listed have 2048x2048 max limit instead.

EDIT: attached logs + cfg https://nofile.io/f/DD9khMRbZ2J/winuaelog.zip

EDIT2: Overscan reports correct size

Nothing wrong in the log..

But minimum horizontal makes no sense, it should be at least 4096 (and is here). Some Amiga side conflict/bug/incorrect something I guess..

There is picasso96fix in WinUAE's Amiga Programs folder. It fixes the issue.

Can't find it in WinUAE's Amiga Programs folder

EDIT: found picassofix96 in very old WinUAE1000.zip from SourceForge: https://sourceforge.net/projects/winuae/files/WinUAE/
and… it does work! Thank you thomas!

@Toni
Why has it been removed from recent archives?

HERE in the version of winUAE 1.4.3 it was said that "picasso96fix" was obsolete with the improvement of the "rtg.library"
I do not use picasso96fix and I have all the resolutions available!

This is correct for the rtg.library from the older WinUAE versions, as supplied in "Amiga programs" drawer. Then I even get a maxsize of 12288x2048!

But this fix is not implemented in other rtg.library versions and the one from WinUAE has also other bugs like corrupted graphics or crashes with FlashMandelNG on planar screens with P96:

http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=...4&postcount=23

Conclusion: There no rtg.library that works perfectly.

I had the same problem, also. Increasing RTG graphics memory to 16/32 MB (not sure which value it was) solved the issue for me. There's no need for the picasso96fix tool.

Of course you need enough RTG memory, but it also depends on the code of your rtg.library whether you need picasso96fix or not. Unfortunately, there are several different rtg.libraries with exactly the same version number.

At this point we need to find out what's the best mix of:

libs/Picasso96/emulation.library
libs/Picasso96/rtg.library
picasso96API.library

to workaround this 1024 limit, without picassofix96. Please, list your installed versions + file size.
Latest P96 I've found is here: http://lilliput.amiga-projects.net/Picasso96.htm

I use the package Unofficial "Picasso96-2_1.e" linked to you.

I'm having the same exact problem w/ AmigaOS 3.1.4 + Picasso96 2.1e (unofficial) + Z3 RTG w/ 128MB, using WinUAE x64 4.0.1.

What exactly *is* picasso96fix? Is it compatible with AmigaOS 3.1.4? Should I need it?

EDIT: Looks like I needed it. I downloaded and extracted it from https://sourceforge.net/projects/win...0.zip/download, ran it, and now ScreenMode reports a max size of 4096x4096 for the 24-bit and 32-bit modes.

It is up on the EAB ftp, but what you have above is the only place I knew of to get it.
