Doom 64 - Gamma Fix

Hi Folks. I am lately in a Doom mood
and after finishing Doom 1&2 i played some DOOM 64.

I like the game but man is it DARK, even when i go to the options menu and crank the brightness all the way up; i mean, it´s ok, but still... dark.

So i tried this tool
http://b.1339.cf/sqhaeln.zip
to get the gamma correction.

But then , its to BRIGHT .

So my question is, does anybody have or know a Doom64 gamma fix that is actually spot on ? ( a IPS patch or something like that )

Thank you, Nibbler

It's been long time since I emulated N64.

So, did you try to change video plug ins?

What emulator are you using?

Try emulation then, I don't have Doom on N64, but did notice some other games being too dark, like Perfect Dark.

Emulation ? No. Nothing beats the real thing ( in my humble opinion )
( and i was beta tester for Project64 )

The Game is absolute Playable but a little gamma boost would be nice .
Every Reviewer of Doom64 complains about the gamma, so i thought maybe there is
fix for the Rom out there or somebody knows how to fix it via rom patch.

I was beta tester on PJ64 as well and still have N64 with ~30 games, but no writable carts.

There's a PC port/version of the N64 game floating about the net. I remember playing (and loving) it a few years ago. It might have the options you are looking for?

Otherwise, you can always wait for Brutal Doom 64.

... yea kids
You see, i played Doom 64 via Emulator an the PC Doom64 EX is great.
But to get the N64 Rom finally pachted to play on the real hardware is the goal of this thread.

I see nothing wrong in that ... actually, alot of people prefer the real hardware. Not everybody is like you.

Ouch...

My N64 is connected and still used... (ok, not by me...)

But shouldn't you prefer to play those games also the way they were intended to be played?

BTW, seriously, those glasses makes it easier visible... not recommended to wear on sunny day...

And true, bit unique... nobody is like me...

My first thought was "it's missing link between Doom and Quake, I like it".
