Ultron: Thats quite dark for some reason, here's how it looks here:
DamienD: I'm using normal MAME without any front-end, just the command line. |

This is also very similar to how I remember by beloved A500 looking Time to ditch MAME32 and go back to MAME (and add a front-end) Note: to all the non-believers, how can you say no filters / effects (i.e. double pixels) look better than this |

You probably ticked some wrong boxes, Damien. The overlay PNG's with scanline effects works fine with Mame32 or Mame Plus.

Maybe, but I really don't think so... I've tried all available options... Please PM me the settings that you think will get rid of the "new-ish" scanlines effects you see in post #215 for MAME32 my friend |

Seems like the bilinear pixel doubling zealots have been silenced by the thundering light of the evidence!

Ok, for anybody that uses the MAME32 or MAME Plus etc. and wants the "classic" scanlines effect...
... Scanlines.png = 50% grey ... Scanlines75.png = 37.5% grey ... Scanlines50.png = 25% grey ... Scanlines25.png = 12.5% grey Created by me using Photoshop |

Looks pretty otherwise, thanks damien. Another problem with modern monitors apart from scan lines is that the colour range is too exact. Most 15hz monitors have a warmer/more bent colour curve and tops out on white/light gray much earlier. Grill emulation fails on white surfaces, they are gray, not kinda like "over exposed" or almost bloom effect clean white. Last edited by spiff; 01 April 2007 at 01:00. |
